Summary: This review is for Sony hdr-cx260v I do filming of productions and use several cameras to record the events-this little beast is my backup unit, as it has the worst picture quality of the cameras I use. In 60i, the picture is grainy compared to my Sony hdr-cx560's and Canon g20's. I do love the small size, and use it for interviews and behind the scene stealth work; fits into my pockets easily.
Summary: I agree with many of the glowing reviews here that this is a fine camera for light use. Good picture quality, long battery, excellent little projector built, and strikes the right balance with a design that's compact but not toyish. Sets up well with my little Gorilla-grip tripod. It performs decently in low-light conditions, but not so decently that you won't want to add a light to it. And there's the rub. There is no hot shoe interface.
Summary: I'll start off by saying that everything which is said about the product in the description is true, but it is important to know things that the description does not mention. I had a Sony camera before, bought in ~2003 and I must admit that the quality of the last camera was much better in many or almost all aspects, except the video quality, which is the reason why I bought this one (+ to avoid buying Hi8 tapes).
Summary: I do lots of basketball recording & wanted to have a couple of cameras, so that if games were going on at the same time, we could make sure and get coverage of both. I've had lots of different video recorders & have had good luck with Sony so went with this. Pro: The SD card makes it easy to record lots of video & with the extended battery I can typically record 8 hrs of video with no issue. Con: the unit is a bit 'flimsy' so worried about how well it will hold up.
Summary: Bought this Refurbished from Sony, at a killer price! (250) Video quality surprised me, coming from a Kodak Z950. However, the colors seemed dull in sunlight. Finding videos in the camera via GPS can only be good for a world traveler, or a trucker. Not fond of the menu system. Maps were always in my way.
Summary: Most folks want to know the bad stuff or fails of a product vs what is cool. No ring on lens for filters - Why? old sony video cameras had ring mounts. If Camera is on a tripod you can not remove the Memorey Card. Card slot is on the bottom and should be on the side or top. Should of come with a infra red remote. or have the sensor to use the remote. The camera is $499 and has no remote or sensor to use a remote.
Summary: We bought a GoPro some time back for water activities and due to it's limited focal plane, decided to get the Sony Handycam for beach shots of surfing and wildlife movies due to it's ability to zoom in so well according to the reviews .... while we found the camera worked well in cloudy conditions, as soon as we got into bright sunlight the touchscreen became basically a black mirror and was useless unless held under a towel or some other sort of shade ...
Pretty good but the Canon M50 has it beat.- Returned

Summary: This Sony is pretty good, simple auto mode and auto snap with smile detection. The pics weren't that sharp. Long Battery Life, get non OEM batteries from Big Mike's, they work great. 4 hours. My biggest gripe, and why I returned it for the Canon M50 was sound quality. The SONY literature says it has mic level control: ""Microphone Closer Voice......................Detects human faces and records the associated voice clearly. Blt-in Zoom Mic.............
Summary: Great camera to take along on vacation, family get togethers, outdoor trips, etc. Compact and easy to use. Video quality as expected during daytime hours. Not so good at night. Not happy with quality of still photos but it is a video camera. Agree with other reviews regarding difficult to use the viewfinder during daylight hours. I would recommend buyers may want to shop around and compare before making a decission.
Summary: Ich habe lange geforscht, welche Kamera IN DIESER PREISKLASSE gut testet in Bild UND TON - u.a. die Stiftung Warentest beurteilt die Kamera sehr gut.
