Summary: First problem is the inability to see the screen when recording in sunlight - which is pretty much the conditions I bought it for. Use is easy other than that. However, the lens cover is already stuck open after the first week's use.
Good overall camera, with 2 problems I can't live with.

Summary: To begin with, I've owned many Sony camcorders over the years (Hi8, MiniDV, AVCHD) including a HDR-CX300 that recently broke (a lens element has come loose and only records a fuzzy blob of light). I have had almost nothing bad to say about any of them, except for this one. This camera has a picture issue where if you are recording a bright object close to a darker object, the border between these objects is smeared with a blue tinge.
Summary: I could not wait to get my hands on this camcorder. I thought it would be an improvement to the one that I have, (the Sony HDR-CX150) but was I wrong. I am going to give the most thorough and honest review that I can give. When I read all the details on this camcorder, it gave the impression that it was far superior to the one that I had, and by advertising it as a "newer model" than mine.
