Summary: For under $200, I'm super pleased with the CX190. If lighting is adequate, the picture is awesome, even on a 50" TV. Controls are intuitive enough. And over all, Using this camera is very easy. Lightweight enough to work great with a mini gorilla pod (the one with the magnetic feet). Manual lens cover and non-touch screen are nice. Get the sony cable that hooks up to an external drive.
Summary: So far, I have been happy with my new Sony video recorder. I bought it because our old one was about 11 years old, gets heavy on my wrist and hand, and it records to VHS-C. This has a USB connector for easy downloads, so we can finally put our kids on DVD for memories to watch later.
Summary: The camera is surprisingly easy to use and the videos look good but it's not easy to import and edit the videos on a computer to share them because the user's manual is convoluted and the software is not terribly user friendly.
Summary: I decided to take the plunge and buy this camcorder inspite of the comments I've read. While it is true that this records HD in 60i not 60p, the results are for the most part imperceptible if viewed from a typical HDTV. I recorded snippets as soon as I got it and took out the SD card and slipped it into my Panasonic Blu-ray DVD player's SD slot. I viewed the results on my 42 inch Panasonic 1080p Plasma TV and it produced acceptable images.
Summary: I loved the package and the entire product. The Handycam is basic but allows good HD quality picture. I bought it for my sis who never had a handycam before. I am sure she will be delighted with the product.
Summary: Nice camera with good features. Good price. I was surprised at how small and lightweight this camera is. The quality of the pictures is excellent, the array of features is fine. The included software (downloaded from the camera, updated from the internet) is sufficient for some editing work, though for more complex editing, I suggest using a more powerful software package. The file type seems proprietary to Sony.
Summary: So far this camcorder has been great! We purchased it because my husband is a recruiter for a traveling baseball program and uses it to create individual videos for recruitment to college programs as well as to analyze bat swings and pitching form. So far this has been very beneficial and he is loving it. Very user friendly and easy to operate. The only downfall is the battery life in that it goes rather quickly for the way that he needs to use it.
Summary: My brother requested I help him find a good inexpensive camcorder, after seeing his; my wife wanted one also. I have ordered 2 of these. This model doesn't have a touch screen, the owners manual covers all models, my brother found it confusing to operate. It really should have its own user manual. Once you get past that learning curve; It takes very good sill pictures and movies.
