Summary: Bought this camera because it was on sale at a local Best Buy for Black Friday last year. The price of $199 was a selling point to me and the camera description promises 1080 HD video recording.
Summary: The controls are accessed through an on screen menu. The menu is VERY long and difficult to use. I spent much of an afternoon simply trying to delete some photos and short movie clips. I had to start at the beginning and work through the menus for each one even though I clicked on delete multiple.
SD card handycams are poor-may want to try other brand.

Summary: RETRO. Technology has gone back 20 years. Very disappointed with the HDR-CX190. In order to record media to playable discs, etc, you have to purchase for $200.00 the Multifunction DVD Recorder VRD-MC6.
Pros: There is none.
Cons: Have to use multiple cables and develop a reationship with Sony helpline in order to record your recordings to playable dvd, and its not HD as promised. Seems like they are promoting you to by Blu-ray players in order to view your media. Retro tech.
Summary: As far as I am concerned, no matter how great the camera is, if you can't transfer files easily - it's worthless. The built-in software is not supported by MAC, so it gives you a URL for a work around. I visited the website and found the Home page was written in Japanese.
Summary: Please, please listen to me: Do not buy this camcorder. The image and HD video quality is absolutely horrible from what I would expect from Sony or any modern camcorder for that matter. I make no exaggeration, the image quality resembles what you would get from a webcam.
Had it 2 months, and then it wouldn't recognize the removable media

Summary: I'm not going to go into the technical details of the camera in my review, as they've been fairly well covered so far in previous reviews. I actually really liked the camera and was going to give it 5 stars. We've used it about four times in two months of owning it and it's worked great. HOWEVER...
Pros: It can decieve customers to buy assuming it to be FULL HD
Cons: A Pathatic way of decieving customers. A standard picture is digitally enhanced to high resolution of Full HD, the picuture becomes blur even when played back on HD Computer Screen. Sony Marketing Congratulations .... you decieved me here
Summary: At first I thought this was an outstanding deal. The picture was excellent, night and day with my 6 year old Standard Definition Sony model. Then, I took a listen to the sound and heard a distinct whirring noise through every clip.
Summary: This camera got some good reviews but my experince was somewhat different. The camera looks great and the small screen is really good. It's not touch screen that that doesn;t matter a bit. However, still picture quality was awfull. With 5.3Mbits I was expecting something better than my cheap phone.
Summary: This is not a full HD camera the quality inside is poor even in good light. Outside in sunlight is fair but it can not cope well with movement at all . Purchased to film my grandchildren they move alot ! This item was returned.
