Summary: The controls are accessed through an on screen menu. The menu is VERY long and difficult to use. I spent much of an afternoon simply trying to delete some photos and short movie clips. I had to start at the beginning and work through the menus for each one even though I clicked on delete multiple. The LED screen is very difficult to see in the sun, even at it's brightest setting. Difficult to charge without buying a special cable.
save your money for a better camera, this ones not a good deal.

Summary: about 3 or 4 years ago i purchased a jvc camcorder for about the same price, a pretty decent camara but didnt have stabilizer. the sony handy cam about the same price, size, quality and had stabilizer, but the girl in the store said it would only use sonys memory card so i bought the jvc. rececntly the screen went dark on it so i thought id try the sony big mistake, i should have spent the money to fix the jvc.
Summary: Please, please listen to me: Do not buy this camcorder. The image and HD video quality is absolutely horrible from what I would expect from Sony or any modern camcorder for that matter. I make no exaggeration, the image quality resembles what you would get from a webcam. The "Full HD" video is no where near where it should be compared to competing products.
"SD card handycams are poor-may want to try other brand."

Pros: There is none.
Cons: Have to use multiple cables and develop a reationship with Sony helpline in order to record your recordings to playable dvd, and its not HD as promised. Seems like they are promoting you to by Blu-ray players in order to view your media. Retro tech.
Pros: It can decieve customers to buy assuming it to be FULL HD
Cons: A Pathatic way of decieving customers. A standard picture is digitally enhanced to high resolution of Full HD, the picuture becomes blur even when played back on HD Computer Screen. Sony Marketing Congratulations .... you decieved me here
Summary: At first I thought this was an outstanding deal. The picture was excellent, night and day with my 6 year old Standard Definition Sony model. Then, I took a listen to the sound and heard a distinct whirring noise through every clip. I tried different locations, different camera settings, turned off the "auto" everything and still the noise persisted. Sent it back, and will be looking for something better made. Disappointed in Sony.
Had it 2 months, and then it wouldn't recognize the removable media

Summary: I'm not going to go into the technical details of the camera in my review, as they've been fairly well covered so far in previous reviews. I actually really liked the camera and was going to give it 5 stars. We've used it about four times in two months of owning it and it's worked great. HOWEVER...
Summary: This camera got some good reviews but my experince was somewhat different. The camera looks great and the small screen is really good. It's not touch screen that that doesn;t matter a bit. However, still picture quality was awfull. With 5.3Mbits I was expecting something better than my cheap phone. Video quality was very jittery and went very grainy in low light (e.g. indoors) So I sent it back.
