Summary: Camera takes nice video, just be aware that the Sony 'PMB' Picture Motion Browser software is only available for PC. The camera takes great HD video, but only in AVCHD format, which has to be converted with external tools before use on a Mac. Pros: Easy to use. High quality video once you get it converted. Cons: Limited software support, lack of functions, lack of external microphone support.
Summary: I rarely used it, but it was out-of function in one and half years. The Best Buy techincan told me that it needs $199 to fix! So, I gave up by buying a new one. Advice: Don't buy these camcorders!
Summary: Edit software is poor with little options. Had it for one year and internal sensor went bad and repair was expensive. Still pictures with the 3.1 m/p is very poor. It's ok for a cheap camera but could use more options.
Summary: The Sony Handycam is a terrible, terrible product. It is not intuitive at all, the user manual is confusing and not helpful, and my number one complaint is that it is extremely difficult to transfer your video files to your computer. I filmed some very important interviews with this camera and have spent hours trying to figure out how to get the files off the camera without success.
Summary: I love this little camcorder! For a novice like me it was the perfect price (on Ebay). I would totally recommend this for home videos and capturing moments quickly, as it turns on and is ready to operate in side of a few seconds. Its also super compact with a nice size viewing screen.
