  • Summary: Small is beautiful when it comes to ladies’ bathing costumes and gadgets, and the CX105’s impressive vital statistics are sure to sweep the awards in any technological swimsuit contest. But remember high maintenance honeys rarely come cheap...

Sony HDR-CX105 review

PriceRunner
31 March 2009
  • Excerpt: Ouch! We think we just cut ourselves. This Full HD camcorder is so cutting edge you could bleed out on its crisp 1080i footage, Smile Shutter smarts and auto exposure correction. And did we mention anything about the 8GB of memory that sucks up hours of HD footage and hundreds of 4MP snaps?
  • Pros: Sony’s Smile Shutter makes a cheerful camcorder debut. Activate it and the tiny CX105 will snap a still photo whenever it detects a grin, smirk or sneer – even while it’s filming. If that’s not enough to get your gnashers on display, then cheer yourself up with top class, stabilised Carl Zeiss optics, a D-Range Optimiser to tackle back-lit scenes and vivid, natural colours from the 2.4-megapixel CMOS sensor. Sony’s 2.7-inch touchscreen is as finger-friendly and easy t...
  • Cons: It’s only got 8GB of storage. That may sound like a lot, but it’s not so much when you’re streaming top quality 1080i video to it at up to 16Mbps. At least there’s a Memory Stick Duo port for excess footage. Stereo sound is crystal clear but why do only Sony’s cheaper cams get the in-camera Dolby 5.1 surround treatment? Oh, and did we mention the price?

Sony Handycam HDR-CX105E: Full-HD-Winzling mit 10-fach-Zoom

CNET
3 April 2009
