Summary: This will produce some of the most incredible 3D images you have ever scene in your life if you take the time to learn how to compose 3D shots. This is a MUCH better camera than it's newer model the td20 (which does not prudice as great a 3D effect or 'pop out' float in your face effects.
Summary: I just received my 3D camera about a week ago, and so far, I'm impressed. I am giving this unit 4 stars based on price ($700-$750), quality, stabilization, easy of use, battery life, 5-hr record time in 3D. I dropped down 1 star because there are NO manual controls in 3D mode. Based on amazon reviews, I decided to go with this version, as opposed to the newer HDR-TD20.
Summary: Pretty cool little device, haven't gotten to put it through it's paces yet, but did take it through the Carlsbad Caverns Wednesday... Performed pretty well in low light conditions, took it to a car show a couple weeks ago with good results. Now to learn Sony Vegas in order to edit & burn to Blu-Ray.
Summary: I looked at buying this camera from Amazon a couple times but just couldn't ever bring myself to pay the 1000+ bucks it was going for here. I was walking through Best Buy a couple weeks ago and saw they were clearing them out (I assume to make way for the new TD-20 models) at 50% off. I thought about it for a week and then went back in and grabbed one of the last ones they had. It is well worth the price at that lower price point.
Summary: So far it's working good!! It's an awesome camera with below $900 price. It's a video for the future, if you don't have 3DTV now you can always watch it in 2D but the important is having access to 3D option which the next generation will enjoy. It's just bigger than other camcorder as it compose of two camera put on together to get the 3D video effects.I wish they have this in all black and a kind of rubberize like finish like the SLR camera- now that's a better Sony!
Yes you can make 3D Blu-Rays now without any additional expense.

Summary: Simply put 3D has always been really cool but somewhat gimmicky to me. After seeing this camera in the Sony store I knew i had to have it. 3D aside, this little thing takes the best HD video I have seen yet. It is colorful, super sharp, full of depth and great in low light. It can do 24p mode for student and hobby filmmakers and it can do 30 and 60p for traditionalists. On its' 2D quality alone it's worth a look. Enter 3D. Wow!
Summary: Before to buy this one, I checked around the offer of the 3d camcorder market, Panasonic, JVC, Fuji and Sony, guess what, I bought this sony and is incredible machine, easy to use, ergonomic (even at first saw does not appear because of their shape), great quality, long last battery, the image in the LCD is great 3d without glasses, works great in low light conditions, simply fantastic!
