Because 2D still matters

Gear Patrol
27 November 2011
  • Excerpt: Like the idea of 3D , but don’t want to sacrifice the ability to capture tack-sharp full HD video? Sony has just the weapon for you. The Sony Handycam HDR-TD10 Full HD 3D ($1499) captures 1080p HD with both of its dual lenses — something Sony calls Double Full HD. Each lens is backed by a CMOS sensor and processor along with high quality optics capable of 10x zoom and captured to the camcorder’s 64GB of flash memory.

Sony HDR-TD10 3D Camcorder Review

Videomaker
7 October 2011
  • Summary: Fun, easy and effective 3D video with the option of 2D video at any phase makes the TD10 an excellent choice for bringing depth to your scenes.
  • Pros: Instant glasses-less 3D monitoring, Double Full HD (1920x1080) 3D video, 2D use of all 3D footage, Direct Copy to a HDD (no need for a computer)
  • Cons: Manual 3D Depth Adjustment indicator lacked sufficient information for precise control, No 3D stills

  • Summary: The Sony HDR-TD10E is well worth a look if you're in the market for a Full HD 3D camcorder. Features like the 10x optical zoom make it a versatile solution, and it's also incredibly capable when it comes to 3D footage. Just don't expect it to come cheap.

The Sony HDR-TD10 records 3D video!

camcorders.reviewed.com
3 August 2011
  • Conclusion: The fact that the HDR-TD10 can record 3D video overshadows every other feature the camcorder offers. Because of this, the camcorder is not recommended for anyone looking for a "regular" camcorder to shoot 2D video. The HDR-TD10 is too large, heavy, and over-priced to be used for simply recording 2D content. Its core use should be for 3D recording.

Sony HDR-TD10 review

Stuff.tv
15 July 2011
  • Summary: If you’re going to do 3D video properly you don’t want the left and right views to share the same lenses or sensors. No, far better to give each view its own lens and hi-def sensor, as the Sony HDR-TD10 does. That theory is backed up by the footage the TD10 records – the best we've seen so far, although it’s not leagues ahead of its arch rival, the JVC TD1 .

Test: Sony HDR-TD10E (3D-HD-Camcorder)

CHIP Online
21 October 2011
  • Conclusion: Sonys erster 3D-Camcorder überzeugt im Test.
