Summary: I purchased the sony handycam TRV350 and am very satisfied with it. This was my second sony handycam TRV350that I purchased from ebay...the first one I had to return because it didn't work. The second one is just WONDERFUL. I had to have that particular camcorder because it will take films with slow shutter speed and that is the only way to reproduce old and super 8 films.
Summary: The equipment allows the conversion of my collection of old tapes sony 8mm format to MPEG4 The sony has discontinued the product and consumer millhares left helpless. The only solution is to purchase used products.
I recommend this product for analog to digital conversions.

Summary: I bought this to do conversions from analog to digital and it works great for that. I can't say one way or the other what the recording quality is, but I have another handycam that took great graduation videos.
Summary: Although this was a discontinued model, it was exactly what I needed. It is fairly easy to operate, but it did come with the instruction manual just in case! It is a very good model and I am not sure what replaced it or if it was replaced at all. The only negative is the Hi8 tape is loaded into the bottom which is a bit bulky and if you put it on a stand, you need to remove it from the stand to change tape. Also, it is a bit big, but not terribly.
Great camcorder for digitizing older 8mm & Hi8 tapes

Summary: I purchased this camcorder for a very specific need: to transfer 15-year-old Hi8 wedding tapes to DVD and/or computer archive. The Sony Digital-8 system plays my Hi8 tapes with less interference or jitter than my original Hi8 camcorders did. (BTW, this camera can record on the older Hi8 tapes but the Digital-8 system records 60 min. on a 120 min. tape.
Does well, must have for Ghost Hunting or Night Viewing

Summary: Well, I like the night shot capability, and i like the fact that i can record onto tape. I am a paranormal investigator, and hard evidence is a must. the downfalls to this camcorder is the weight, its rather heavy, especially with me being a girl :P but, the other downfall is that i cannot find any tape that will record past 60 minutes. which means, i must constantly go back to the camera to change it out.
Summary: I bought this to transfer 25 years of 8mm, HI8, and Digital 8 tapes to an external hard drive. Works good but be aware, the standard video streaming is not compatible with windows vista or windows 7. Luckily I have an old computer still running windows XP and it works great using the firewire connection. I am not sure how you would use it with more recent operating systems, probably would have to buy some type of editing software.
Summary: We bought this to transfer our older 8MM analog tapes to DVD/Hard Drive. It is the most advanced camera produced by Sony in 2003 with both memory stick and 8MM tape capabilities. The camera automatically digitalizes your analog tapes as it transfers the picture and sound. If you want to convert your old VHS tapes to DVD/Hard Drive, you can also run it through the camera, between your VHS player and the computer or DVR.
Summary: I bought this camera because the transport mechanism in my previous one failed. The repair estimate was $350, which renders the dead camera useless unless someone wants to take low resolution video clips or snapshots with it. Since I have Hi8 tapes, I needed a camera to play them back and transfer them to a computer for creating DVDs.
