Summary: Still a great camera after all these years. Just the right editing capabilities. Really easy to use Likes: features: firewire/USB/fades/zoom/backward compatability of format/night vision/memory stik option Dislikes: Relatively bulky, upside-down tape access (time consuming when on a tripod) My complements to the Sony designers/engineers on a versatile and durable product.
Summary: I purchased this Camera so that I could convert my Hi-8 Tapes to a Digital format through my computer, and it does this job great. It also records well and has nice features that can be fun to play around with.
Summary: This is my third 730. The other two are still working. I use the cameras to film live music in niteclubs. Although not the newest technology these cameras are great workhorses. I use them handheld and they have been dropped-but they keep on ticking. Because I use them at low light levels the picture quality difference between them and an HDcam is virtually unnoticeable. I appreciate the manual iris, and focus adjustment.
Summary: This camera is everything I expected when I successfully won the auction. It is a joy to use and functions as Sony advertizes. It has many more options than a new camera costing as much or more ie. i/o jacks for headphones and mic and the audio capabilities are great. Another plus is the ability to convert older analog tapes to digital. It's just an all round fine machine.
Summary: its a little bumped up for the price ,its a good deal, im happy my old one broke and ive have a stack of 8's to edit, and i bought a 90 doller trv40 to thrash as a stunt cam ,, oh yea smoke the humbolt, hold until u choke.
Summary: This is a great camera from 1998-2000. I bought one and had almost a decade of great service - but finally it broke so I needed to buy another to save my old D8 tapes to DVD. It would not bother me to get a camera that did not have a batery, ac adapter, or whatever - I have all that stuff. After that I may let my 7 year old use it as a learning camera and if he breaks it, thats OK.
