Summary: it live up 2 my expectations and im gonna use it like crazy. ebay was the only place i could find this camera and i was even able 2 buy 1 for parts. i have alot of tapes i have shot with this camera and before i bought this camera, i had no way 2 put them on my computer
Summary: Excellent Camera. Purchased it to transfer all my Digital 8mm home records to an external hardrive and computer for safe storage and before the tapes breakdown and I lose all our valuable memories of our life and kids big moments. Works great. I had to purchase this one due to my previous camera being stolen. Will keep for future events as the picture and sound quality are still excellent with this technology.
Serves very well as an 8mm tape playback system for viewing or converting.

Summary: Most people looking at this camera will be interesting in using it to play back old Digital8 tapes to view them or convert them to a current digital format (e.g. DVD or hard drive). For those purposes this product does the job with support for Digital8, Digital 8 and 8mm video tapes. It supports output via S-Video, std. video, USB and i-link (Sony's name for firewire).
Summary: I purchased this Camera so I would be able to transfer all my 8mm film to my pc and then to edit making archival copies of home movies of our family. It is a solid camera. All original cables, remote and battery plus a bonus battery and two new tapes were included. Even the owners manual and receipt were attached. I shot some home video and played it back.I was very impressed with the ease of use.
Summary: I love the ability to load videos onto my computer via USB or DV i/o cables. I have been using one just like it for 10 years until it was dropped and broken. I bought this as a replacement and it is still relevant with respect to todays technology.
