looks good..but poor picture quality-poor color quality.

Summary: I was really excited to get this. I always wanted a video camera. The video camera itself is just not as good as I hoped it was going to be. The picture quality is really not very good at all. The colors of the pictures and the videos are so OFF it's ridiculous.
Summary: I bought this camera to replace a tape based Sony camcorder for the solid state memory feature. I use a Macbook Pro with iMovie to create my home movies. The camera is very compatible and easy to use in iMovie, however the images are less than crisp.
Summary: Just bought it and loved the compact size, functions and ease of use. Thought I bought a great camera until I downloaded the photos and the movies I took on the first day, quality was well below what I expected. Movie was dull, and not sharp at all and I took it at the highest quality setting.
Summary: I am very disappointed with the quality of the still photos. They are fuzzy and of low resolution. I also have difficulty converting the video clips into home movies so I can put them onto a CD.

Summary: Double Whammy. I purchased this item from another vendor, but it was not in BOLD BIG type that the camera was in PAL format. I opened the package, took the camera on vacation, then discovered my mistake.
Summary: How is it that camcorders are so much more expensive today then several years ago, but the picture quality is worse? Yes, I know -- now we have hard drives instead of mini tapes, but the picture quality has not improved unless you go buy a high definition camcorder for $600 to $1200!
Summary: If you are like me, and don't want to haul both a camera and a camcorder to events and on vacations, this IS NOT the camcorder for you. It takes really bad grainy photos. I should have done more homework. The HD camcorders can take 3 MP photos. This SD camcorder takes photos around 640k!
