Poor still image, not Mac compatible video, poor product
23 December 2010
Summary: Still image size limited to VGA (0.3Mb). Zeiss lens quality useless for this level of definition. Video not Mac compatible. You have to buy, install and learn 2 separate softwares, one for video one for audio. Touch screen not interesting: you touch always where you do not want. Not really small nor discrete. I regret my old DSC M1, discontinued by Sony.
Summary: Ordered the sx83. Shot some trial video. Playback on screen looks great! The included CD had no software for downloading to my computer; I am running XP sp3 and their program for downloading (and converting, more on that in a minute) is incompatible with XP sp3. The SONY website does not offer an upgrade to the program, just says "not available".
Summary: I purchased a DCR-SX60 16GB Handycam® Camcorder directly from Sony. I received the camera and several days later spent a few hours taking videos for use with my work. Upon viewing those videos on a television and computer later that day, I found all of the videos to be blurry. Also, while using the camera I discovered that the manual focus didn't work at all. I called Sony and was instructed to return the camera to the Sony Laredo Repair Center at my own expense.
