"Disappointment coming from Sony."

PeterinThai, CNET
25 November 2010
  • Pros: LCD is clear with user friendly touch screen.
  • Cons: Unbelievably bad picture/video quality, why Sony would put their name on this product is beyond me. I bought this in Thailand and tried to return it after seeing the picture/video quality but Sony would not accept it back.

  • Pros: Very easy to use with it's touch screen features and conveniences built in. Very nice and very clear lcd screen.
  • Cons: No matter which way I opted, the video quality after transferring to any pc is not sharp or clear like similar camcorders in the same price. After comparing to friend's video results, this handycam 44 always came out second best!

Poor Quality

20 June 2010
  • Summary: Do Not Buy!!! The video recording quality of it is ridiculous. I bought this for my daughters 1st birthday and I am not impressed. This seriously has the quality of a 15$ webcam. Sure it looks nice and pretty on the viewscreen and during playback on the device itself. However, when you get your media to the computer it is terrible. I'm so ashamed of the video quality that I wouldn't put it on dvd's for my family.. Seriously, it is that bad.

Great Product

12 June 2010
  • Summary: The camera was a mother's day present and my mom loves it. My mom hasn't had any problems with it so far. She is still learning how to use it, but really likes how it organizes the pictures and video with the software that she downloaded. I love that it is touch screen.
