Summary: I haven't written many Amazon reviews in the past. But I'll write one for this product simply because I feel that I am very much impartial after using it for almost 7yrs. When I spent a lot of hard earned cash and was finally moving up from VHS to HDD camera, I was thrilled. And yes, when I got it, I loved it. Mostly due to the fact that I can record hours and hours worth without any problem. Remember, this is not an HD recording.
Summary: product damage don't turn on the camcorder don't turn on and in sony tell me this camcorder I have return it I lost money on this purchase, does not seem fair that the product reaches its operation is not guaranteed.
Excerpt: It as well functions fully by its genius style and structure. I recommend this for everyone. Quality deserves an A+ and performance is above average. It is sold at the price of Php37,000.00 at Sony Square, Limketkai, Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. I don’t know if there’s any other store around that offers a lower price. After all, I received this just as a gift. Very lucky to have one for free.
Summary: This is a great camera. Not to small and not to big. It is light to carry and easy to pack. I enjoy the pro duo memory stick capability as I use it to capture images, and the internal memory for video.
Pros: Comfortable to Operate, Durable, Great Features, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Simple Controls, Versatile
Summary: THE CAMCORDER IS GREAT. PICTURES AND VIDEO ARE CLEAR. ONE THINK I DON'T LIKE IS THAT IT DOES NOT HAVE A WINDOW TO LOOK INTO WHEN IT IS SUNNY. WHEN IT IS SUNNY YOU CANNOT SEE THE PICTURE AND GUESS THAT THE VIDEO IS COMING OUT RIGHT. I MESSED UP A FEW VIDEOS BECAUSE OF THIS.
Summary: This is a great camera for videos, it's easy to operate & it's light & small. I thought having the still photo option would be awesome, I would only have to carry 1 camera for every thing, but not so. I have taken several hundred photos with it & most are not good quality...the only ones that are good are in perfect lighting conditions.
Summary: I'm not trying to be harsh on ony. They still make the worlds best TV's. They still make great camcorders. Just not this one. Essential items in any camcorder are basic. A remote for self-video. A viewfinder to shoot movies when sunlight is too bright for its viewfinder. Finally, the ability to shoot at night (NIGHTSHOT). The Sony designers chose to leave all three items out. You won't find any of these common features on the SR87.
