Summary: bought this thinking it was the way to go, it worked fine for about 2 years then probs started couldn't access the hard drive, only to be told its dead! so i then bought a card camcorder excellent thing when it full just take the card out and replace with another, miles better than the hard drive option!

Summary: My first camcorder, have had it for some time now. Completely infallible - have filmed countless family occasions with it with huge success. The 60GB hard drive is brilliant - I have never been forced to delete videos because the drive is becoming too full. Quality is very good indeed, and the controls are simple but very effective. Probably the best feature of all is the incredible 60x optical zoom, which is almost certainly the highest of any camcorder I have seen.
Summary: since owning this camcorder (1.5yrs) have used it countless times and the results have been excellent. an additional wide angle lens meant we could just leave it running over christmas present unwrapping fixed to a tripod. it is easy to use, light and compact. about to buy 2nd battery as have been asked to do a wedding video, the first was a huge success. totally recommend.
Summary: The Pros: Ok firstly just want to say this is a gr8 little Cam! The Picture is a decent quality, the sound is good too, (with zooming mic...makes for better sound) The Battery is......so so, however we purchased the extra life battery (also on Amazon)and that really boosts performance. The Camera itself is easy to use, the menus are simple, it even has an EASY MODE for the less technically savvy.
Summary: I bought this camera some time ago and it performs very well but I have just tried to transfer my video to my mac for the first time and it seems to be that this is not an option and the only alternative is to buy a dvd writer/burner. Very disappointing from what is otherwise a great camera.
Summary: I bought this to get better wildlife movies than with my cheap digital camera (which takes 30-sec clips). I'm basically very pleased with it so far. I didn't want the "Picture Motion Browser" software so I didn't install it. I just connect the USB, browse to the Handycam's hard drive and copy the files onto my PC exactly as I would for any portable drive, and it works brilliantly.
