  • Excerpt: My husband and I bought this video camera after our first daughter was born when we were baffled by the variety of cameras on offer. We needed something that we could actually pick up and use quickly to capture first steps etc. I must say that we were not dissapointed.
  • Pros: 20 hr hard drive & expandable flash, good zoom, great ergonomics, very small, light and tough
  • Cons: screen a little bit fiddly, very poor stills,

Superb lightweight camera with a decent zoom for beginners

Mr. M. Heron, Amazon
30 July 2009
  • Summary: Picked this camera up to take on my honeymoon, was mostly swayed by the sony brand, the fact it was so compact with no need for tapes and the zoom. I was very impressed with all the features of this, even with the standard battery I was getting about an hour of recording, the quick on feature didnt...

No replacement Battery

Jckelly, Amazon
30 July 2009
  • Summary: I bought this camera because I suspected my old camera of having a slow throughput of the digital tape giving jerky panning. I thought no tape would eliminate a lot of faults. It did to some degree. But my main gripe is the battery!

Versatile handycam

Philip H, Amazon
30 July 2009
  • Summary: Good pictures, easy to use straight out of the box. 40x zoom is brilliant but operating it causes camera shake unless you are very careful. Would recommend the attachment for remote zoom [switch on a cable]. Even better on a tripod. So far only needed to use it on automatic and results are fine.

Great camcorder!

Amy M, Amazon
28 July 2009
  • Summary: I bought this camcorder a week ago to take for holiday. I already have a camera 10mp so i don't really need to take still pics from camcorder. I'm very happy with this camcorder (my first), its surprisingly small and light. Easy commands and 30G is plenty.
