Summary: Hi. I bought the sony dcr sr32e about 5 years ago.I am keen on video and have used it a lot.The machine is easy to use and the instructions are easy to follow. The still photo side of it are rubbish..but i did not buy it for stills so i dont use this part. The videos are by far very clear (i have also recently purchased a dcr sr58...no where near as good). After having it (dcr 32e) for about 2 years the screen went blank and at a cost of £126 to get it fixed.
Summary: I bought one of these for my son in Feb 2007, so thought it useful to put in an update on how it has fared after 4 years. The camcorder was easy to use and download images and the zoom is great. He had lots of fun making films and editing them on the computer with free basic film editing software that you can get for PCs including just about every special effect you could imagine.
Summary: This camcorder produces very good quality video and audio unfotunately there is no viewfinder which I was very annoyed about as it was the first camcorder I have had without one I also took it for granted it had one (my fault)this camcorder was bought before HD was available and no viewfinder is almost universal today.I would not buy another camcorder without a viewfinder.I have always liked Sony and still do and any other HDD camcorder make would probably have no...
Summary: this machine is so easy to use, bought as a replacement for the same model, such an easy choice, easy to dowload video to computer or burn a disc, good menu to follow and the still shots when used as a stills camera are very good, good software with the camera as well.
Summary: I have used this product for quite a long time now... Its very easy to use... the touch screen is quick and responsive. The sound from the camcorder itself was amazingly loud (i mean it was unexpected from a tiny thing like that). The only thing I would've like better would be a longer battery life and pictures with a little higher resolution. I specifically like the date-to-date sorting of videos. Overall, nice buy.
Summary: This camera seemed fine, pictures and film downloaded and viewed on my PC OK But I've tried three diferent video edit programs on 2 different PCs and all the programs have frozen after inserting a couple of clips from this camera. They don't like it. Unfortunatley Sony Contact is down under high volume of communications at the moment, now I think about it they didn't reply to a querry I made a year ago about something else. I'm not quite sure what to do about it.
Summary: I bought this camera a few days ago and I loved it. It's size, it's price, it's features, it is a great entry level HDD camera. I was in love. I made some great videos on it. But then it came to getting the videos on to my Mac... I could move them over fine, but the mpeg2 format caused me problems. I paid for and downloaded the mpeg2 add on for quicktime and I could now view and edit the movies. But the quality is abysmal, the videos are horribly (re?
Excerpt: "...a very good camera from Sony which combines most of the features you really want in one small, compact package. The LCD screen is clear and the touch menus are easily navigated although manipulating the camera through software is much easier and I tend to do it this way to preserve the screen. The still picture quality is ok but not on a par with a camera deisgned for that purpose. The camera fits nicely into your hand and weighs very little ...
Pros: Small Size, Light Weight, Good Movie Quality, Easy to Use, automatic settings do a great job .
Cons: Still picture quality less than stellar, software adequate but not great .
Excerpt: "I find this camcorder to be far superior to my old DVD one. The hard drive means that it is much more compact, and reads and writes loads faster too - without the aggravation of DVD insertion and removal. I have also found it to be reliable - it captured some excellent video of my Christmas and New Year's Eve parties, which played back and transferred with perfect picture quality (although not as superior as HD quality of course). I even discovered ...
Pros: Excellent picture quality, portability, easy to use touch screen
Cons: Battery life, few supplied software editing features
Excerpt: "This is one fantastic camcorder - and can't be beaten for the price. It's small, powerful, quick to react and I've not had a problem with it yet. The touch screen menus are easy to navigate (once you've read the manual), the picture quality is crystal clear (not HD, but who's complaining at this price) and the sound quality is good - except in high winds, when it picks up more wind noise than people talking. I love the inbuilt features (the ...
Pros: Portable, good quality pictures, docking station, touch screen, spot focus, software easy to use
Cons: Software supplied only has basic editing features, battery life .
