Nice camera. Not so good at night

Esteban Mosquera "stebanus", Amazon
24 March 2006
  • Summary: The camera is one of the best considering the price and the size of it. The only problem I found is that it has not a light, so you will need to buy the external one, if not all the shots that you do at night will be very dark.

Little Giant

Christopher, Amazon
17 February 2006
  • Summary: I've had this camcorder for a week now and I think it works great .. except for the touch screen feature. That takes a little getting used to .. especially when accessing the special features (such as fader effects) while filming.

a great camcorder

Amazon
29 January 2006
  • Summary: DCR-PC55 - dead easy to use, and the screen menu is a doddle ! Small enough to fit in my pocket (which is one of the reasons why I bought it), and good colour reproduction. I would have given it 5 stars, except (1) it picks up a lot of wind noise (external mike socket would have been good)(but, hey,...

Hardware good -Software TERRIBLE!!!!

25 January 2006
  • Excerpt: Ok, let me start by saying that this is overall a good camera. Typical Sony thinking about all the little features that allow the device to work extremely intuitively - easy to use, but packed with features - HOWEVER - the entire package is all let down by the software that ships with the camera!!!
  • Pros: Excellent Hardware  -  smooth features  -  compact design
  • Cons: TERRIBLE SOFTWARE  -  LIMITS PURPOSE OF ENTIRE CAMERA !
