Sony’s DCR-PC350 is the company’s most expensive matchbook camcorder from 2004. It’s a good camcorder, especially for a matchbook, and it definitely beats the socks off of Canon’s high end Optura 400 and Optura 500. While the Opturas may take the cake in the manual control department, as they offer manual audio control and true shutter adjustment, the DCR-PC350 offers superior performance in low light environments as well as some other amenities for the matchbook... Darn it if this little baby doesn't offer more options than a mortgage adviser. The headliner, of course, is that it's a three-megapixel MiniDV camcorder, which in itself is enough to get home movie nuts drooling in their popcorn-makers and jumping out of their director's chairs. Read more

This is a nice camera, delivering good quality video images & decent photos. Light & small, using easily obtainable, high quality MiniDV - I love it! Minor irritations include touchscreen based menu only & digital photos can only be trensferred via USB, requiring iLink AND USB if you use iLink. Read more

The DCR-PC350 has been a great experience for me, trying my hand at filmmaking. The camcorder has many features and styles, like sepia, pastel, and black and white. 16-bit audio recording means that the audio is sharp and clear. It is highly customizable; the intelligent accessory shoe allows extra flash, lighting, or a higher quality "boom" microphone. The camcorder also takes high-resolution 3 megapixel photos, which can be easily expanded to a larger size. The... Read more
