Great model at its time

skwalebaba, Ebay
21 October 2006
  • Summary: I own this camcorder since a long time now and I am mostly satisfied with it. Nevertheless, I have to warn you about following problems I discovered: - When you record a video in a quiet environment, you will be able, when you play what you recorded, to hear the motor noise of the DV cassete deck on the tape, - it is not efficient in low light environments, - it does not react fast enough in focus changes particularly in low light environments, - it is too heavy for a...

good digital camcorder

gemini08, epinions.com
30 January 2002
  • Summary: If you use it to take image more than video, I prefer you to buy a digital camera and a camcorder without still image feature together.
  • Pros: firewire, 2-in-1 (camera and camcorder)
  • Cons: bad picture taking under low light

nice but expensive

Donald D. Farra, Amazon
22 November 2001
  • Summary: The Sony digital camcorder records excellant video images and sound, but most TV set fail to reproduce the image quality and conventional VHS recorders lose the video quality when copying. The still image quality is poor compared to stand alone 1 mega pixel cameras and cannot be used at the same time you are video taping. Works well with a iMac and iMovie for editing, could not see doing it any other way for less.

Sony Style!

ODB, Amazon
15 February 2001
  • Summary: Ive had this camera for 9 months, and I have grown very attached to it. I've beat the crap out of it and it still works fine, a good sign. It fits in ones hand like a crazy optical-recepting hand gun. After time and experimenting, one grows accustomed to its grip and it's small size makes the human subjects less nervous, almost as if no video camera is there, just a miniscule receptor of their realtime image.
