Are you interested in 16:9 videography? If so, you may not want to look any further than the Sony DCR-HC90. While this model does have some competition, when it comes down to it the DCR-HC90 does almost everything right. Sure, there are some downfalls, but these do not outweigh all of the benefits that this handycam has to offer.

The DCR-HC90 is Sony’s top of the line single chip camcorder. This set up has worked well in this model, and consumers who make this choice will not be disappointed. When it comes to low light performance, there are not too many models that are better than the DCR-HC90. In fact, in no light situations this camcorder even does a solid job in getting the most out of what is available.

Another huge benefit of the DCR-HC90 is its size. At a bit over one pound, this camcorder is easy to take with you anywhere. No matter if you are shooting your child’s recital or a make shift movie, this is one camcorder that will not wear you out.

On the downside of things, you may have a hard time adjusting to the onscreen menus of the DCR-HC90. These can be confusing for even the most advanced videographers, so imagine what these prompts do to beginners. The autofocus feature of the DCR-HC90 could also stand for a bit of improvement as it seems to take longer than usual to lock onto its target.

Every camcorder has drawbacks, and the DCR-HC90 is not alone in this department. But when you compare these negatives to all of the positives it is a no brainer. If you are a consumer in the market for a do it all camcorder, you need to check out what the DCR-HC90 has to offer. It is built to thrill, not disappoint.
