Summary: I purchased this camera in 2008 to take on vacation. It takes me forever to decide on electronics to buy because I am very picky. This camera has lived up to all of my expectations and more. I was not in the market for a professional camera.
Summary: I like the IR on this. I only gave 3 stars for Picture Quality only for cpature to Computer. There is a loss of color. I bought new high end firewire and it's a tad better. I use several Video Editors with the same loss of color in all. Oh the Macro is awesome.
Summary: This camera has great features but I mostly purchased it for work with time lapse. I posted a video of one of my time lapse videos and have this camera always filming more. The camera works so well I ended up getting two. One for personal film work and the other for time lapse.
Summary: Great value! If you want great picture quality just less than HD, miniDV is the format. Think again about your priorities before buying a non-HD DVD or HDD camcorder as MPEG formats are lesser than miniDV in pic qty besides their other limitations. *** The dcr hc-52 is widely available in stores.
Summary: It's a excelent camera, as I read in last review you need the iLink cable to copy the video to the computer, and I order one at the same time I order the camera; and Amazon it's great, even I order with the super saving shipping, they ship the order the next day and arrive me 4 days after.
