The Sony DCR-HC62 is a MiniDV Handycam® Camcorder which weighs 13 oz (390g) without Tape and Battery, 1lb (455g) with Tape and Battery and measures 2 1/2 x 3 3/8 x 4 5/8 inch (63 x 85 x 115mm) with battery. The Sony DCR-HC62 features SteadyShot® image stabilization feature which helps to capture sharp, clear, detailed video. Super NightShot® Plus technology allows users to shoot color video in total darkness. This camcorder also offers a 25x optical zoom / 2000x digital zoom and 2.7“ wide LCD screen touch panel. The 2.7” LCD screen provides exceptional viewing clarity with 123K pixels resolution and the rotating display (up to 270 degrees) allows for multiple viewing angles, as well as provides sharp, detailed images for monitoring or playback.

Sony DCR-HC62's Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar lenses are designed specifically for compact camcorders, and utilize precision ground optics to maintain the sharpness and contrast found with larger lenses. The Sony DCR-HC62 is equipped with a 1/6“ Advanced HAD™ (Hole Accumulation Diode) CCD with 690K (effective) pixels which provides clarity and detail with exceptional video (up to 520 lines of horizontal resolution) and still image performance. The Megapixel technology enhances digital videos and digital still photography performance. This camcorder offers up to 520 lines of horizontal resolution, 3X the color bandwidth and a significantly higher signal/noise ratio. Sony DCR-HC62 is powered by rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries which are not subjected to a life shortening ”Memory Effect“.

Sony DCR-HC62's AccuPower meter displays the battery time remaining in minutes, in either the viewfinder or on the LCD screen. Sony DCR-HC62 also features Tele Macro Function which help subjects stand out by properly focusing the subject while leaving the background unfocused. This camcorder is also equipped with a manual focusing panel which allows the user to control the focus in difficult situations where either the environment or the subject does not allow the camcorder's auto focus to perform optimally. This camcorder provides users with a USB interface.

Does anyone make a MiniDV camcorder anymore that includes a video/audio input jack? I only need a standard definition camera. I would be willing to buy a flash based unit but MiniDV is what I'd like to get.
