Summary: This is the second time that I own this very particular Sony Handycam model, and I have to say it is, yet again, an excellent and very satisfying experience, as always, using the amazing Sony Handycam DCR-HC46 Camcorder. There are multiple features that are available with this camcorder, which you don't get in other handycam models and brands, including the magnificent multi-channel input docking station, that also acts as a battery charger, and a whopping magnificent...
Summary: My son is 5 and we are using it to teach him about movies. He is interested in being a stuntman and wants to know how it all works with the cameras. That is why we have purchased the Handycam, great product and simple to use and manipulate.
Summary: I presently own a sony handcam dcr-hc46 and there comes a point in time if you are a serious photographer, a backup of your equipment is vital where necessary.Iam a retired professional photographer but more often than not the simple consumer friendly camera when applied professionaly can achieve remarkable results.
Summary: My wife and I purchased this camera for the upcoming birth of our first child and have been nothing but pleased with it. Although not the most expensive camera on the market I have found it to be very sutiable for family engagments, indoor and outdoor events. Setup and easy of use has been a big plus (even my wife who is technologically inept has been able to jump right in and use it effectively).
Summary: Sony DCR-HC46 MiniDV 1MP : Amazon delivered this product flawlessly. The camcorder is pretty good value ($399)and delivers very good images for the resolution which is, for me, fine despite the 3-4MPs around, and good sound (-comparable with an earlier Sony TRV 33 at double the price which lasted 4 years before failing). Build quality appears good, though much lighter than previous.
Summary: I have used the camcorder for 5 days and recorded about 45min of video. No problems what so ever. I dubbed several DVD +R through the ILink cable to my Sony RG330 DVD Recorder. Out of 3 DVDs NONE have failed. One camcorder option I did change is the Audio Quality, the default is 12bit and I changed it to 16bit. Zoom is great, but the digital zoom you really need a tripod. Great Picture, I love the 16:9 widescreen. For the price I am very satisfied with the DCR-HC46.
Summary: The Sony DCR-HC46 is a terrific mid-range digital camcorder. It has a more than adequate 12x optical zoom (any more and even image stabilization won't remove the jitters). There are quick access buttons on the body of the camera, and a ton of features in the on-screen menus (available only on the swing-out LCD viewfinder). Using your fingers on these menus is much easier than I thought they would be, and most of those features are for infrequent occasions.
Summary: Because there is no reason to complain about this 'nearly' perfect camera.OK, so far I've had a bad experience with this camera (tried to hook it up to computer with USB... got lackluster quality. Tried Firewire... Oops! Guess what? Didn't work! Time to send it back, and I am still waiting for it to return so I can actually transfer and edit something on my computer!
Summary: Bought this for my son's 14th b-day--he's taking a class at school this September in video production in conjunction with Mac computers. So far so good with our Mac @ home. I really wasn't concerned with compatibility since we've only owned SONY's and always had Mac's. It has been sooooo easy for him to use. So lightweight and compact. Battery life is very good and ordering addtional batteries for just in case was as easy as ordering the camcorder and very reasonable!
