Excerpt: "...of extremely high quality. This Sony camera incorporates a compact lens assembly going by the fancy name of Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar® Lens and a high-performance 800,000-pixel HAD CCD image sensor to capture high-quality video footage. 800,000-pixel is a huge number. Generally speaking the video footage would need 500,000 pixels for a super resolution image quality considering that PAL television is a 720 x 576 or 414,720 pixels and NTSC is ...
Pros: Superb Zoom, Extremely high video quality, Good audio quality, Easy to use, Reasonably priced
Summary: My Dad's existing Sony mini dv camcorder, which he'd had for approximately 6 years, packed up last week whilst he was trying to record to a DVD disc. Unfortunately I couldn't help as my camcorder is SD, and with my sister being away (she too has a mini dv camcorder) Dad felt it more prudent if he sought a replacement.
Summary: I loved this camcorder because it was cheap, small and light.it was easy to use with the handycam dvd wich told me about difrent acsseorys I could buy, how to hold the camcorder what to shoot, were to shoot and when to shoot. But there were some bad things about it I could not plug a mic in to it,it does not have an image stabliser and it took 2 years to get it to work on usb.
Summary: I agree with a few people who rated this camera, that it would not work with a UBS. Anyway after buying an ilink I was OK. Thats the only reason why I gave it 4 stars, because the Sony DCr-HC45E is an excellent camera. Good quality picture, easy to use and lots of nice features.
Summary: A great little standard definition dv camcorder which fits comfortably in the palm of the hand and produces good quality footage for general home&family use. The supplied software from Sony will only allow capture to PC via Firewire/iLink which means you have purchase an extra cable because its not included in the box.
Summary: The Picture Motion Browser software that comes with this doesn't have tool to download video using USB streaming. The only option that comes with it is iLink . So, if your PC doesn't have iLink then this handycam is useless. Even the iLink cable is not supplied by Sony. I was really surprised to see that USB streaming is not supported.
Summary: I've never written a review before but this camera has impressed me so much I had to tell someone. I've got so much passion for this camera I could easily become a sales rep. The picturs very sharp, the zoom is amazing, the accessories you can buy for this camera are great (waterproof casing/extra lenses), it's got night vision the lot. Get this camera and you won't be disapointed.
Excerpt: "This video camera is simply astounding. For one thing, it records at 800k pixels, which is huuuuge, allowing such amazing quality videos to be shot. It isn't too often that you will find a camera with this quality; I've taken so many videos with this camera and I've only had it such a short time. The HC45E is the right choice for recording important moments in history at high quality - you will be able to watch them again years later at the same ...
Pros: excellent video & sound quality, easy to use, AMAZING zoom
Cons: you might get addicted to using it, it's so good
Summary: I don't actually own this camera but i have had the pleasure of using one at my local park (it's my friends camera). When i first held it, it fit in my hand nicely and was a nice weight. I then started zooming in on someone way over the other side of the park and wow, it didn't stop zooming until i was right in their face! The zoom is ultimately brilliant and i recommend this camera to anyone. The huge zoom could be incredibly useful.
Summary: You simply can not link this upto a PC without buying a 6 pin - 4 pin firewire lead seperately. Especially beware if you have no firewire (1394) port on your PC. Either way it'll cost you for either a lead or firewire adapter. A poor show Sony - why sell a DV Camcorder marketed at PC users that can't be linked up to a PC without spending extra cash? Instructions are rotten too. Shame, it spoils what looks like, and feels like a top-notch product.
