Summary: When I bought it, I did not realize that it would be hard to download movies onto a computer. I tried various gimmicks, but could not get the camcorder to talk with my DELL laptop even though the Sony software said that everything looked good. I even tried my other DELL desktop and faced the same problem. I am not sure if there is a compatibility issue between DELL and Sony since a friend of mine bought the same camcorder and it worked fine with a HP laptop.
Summary: I selected this mini cam-coder based on Top Ten Review then I decided to purchase it, unfortunately I did not read specification carefully that the media recording was MINI DV (using mini cassette) only we can't use SD memory card for recording. It was my reason to send back to the seller. However the seller was reliable seller, it was not seller fault but me. So please read the specification carefully before you deciding to purchase any goods.
Summary: I had a bad experience with this camera. The mini dv "tape" got stuck in the camcorder and would not eject rendering it useless and too expensive to repair. I also found it cumbersome and extremely difficult to use with my Mac. I just purchased a Flip Mino HD which is much better suited to my needs...
Summary: I had owned a SonyDCR-HC20, which was stolen. I assumed this would be a step up from that. In some ways, I suppose it is, but in many ways it is not. It feels like a cheap camera, with its clunky plastic case. Recording in low light situations is a particular challenge. And I was startled to find that this camcorder, unlike many of its rivals, has no remote control! For that reason alone I'll be returning this little disappointment ASAP.
