Summary: At this late date be careful as I suspect that many of these still available may have problems. I've had several HC-28s. This was purchased simply to complete the conversions to digital storage (vs MiniDV). It didn't work right out of the box though it was supposed to have been new.
Summary: this camera was nothing like it was advertised. the add said that it worked good. but it worked far away from good. the picture was fragmented something awful. i tried to clean the heads but to no avail.
Summary: I ordered this camera mainly to use as a tape deck to log and capture footage onto my computer. It works great! I have also used to it record my kids. Great price and great equipment. I was and am very pleased with my purchase.
Summary: We bought this camera because our old mini dv tape camera broke and we had 60 plus tapes that we could no longer watch. We have been successfully tranferring them to DVD with the help of this camera. We are also able to use the camera for lots of great new family memories.
Summary: This is the 2nd time we bought this camera because our 1st one died after 5 years of light use. I bought this one because it was cheaper to buy another used camera, to convert the little tapes to DVD, rather than pay to have it done. We bought a Canon Vixia that uses a memory card.
Summary: Great little camera. Even though it may seem primitive now, this camera still delivers & will last longer than the dslr hd cameras, no kidding. Man, I lovin' it. There's so many pros/benefits in owning this. Lenses, tapes, cool accessories & gear for this camera are awesomely cheap right now.
