Great Until Video Head Malfunctioned

Amazon Customer, Amazon
9 July 2009
  • Summary: As warned, there is some fuzzy quality in bad lighting conditions and the colors are extra vibrant, but overall this was an excellent video camera, especially for the low price of $280 (not sure why it seems to be much more on Amazon.com now).

It worked great while it did, but about six years later it randomly broke.

  • Summary: I have no complaints. It is challenging to figure out a good software to use to put it on your computer. I have a DVD recorder and just transfer it directly from the camera to a DVD. Great camera though! I'd recommend it for a simple little video camera! It worked well while it worked!

Okay

James M., Newegg
20 February 2007
  • Summary: Okay for the price. I'd look at the DCR-HC96 for better video quality. But still okay for the price it's given.
  • Pros: Infrared light, compact, easy storage, okay sound (16-bit maximum), uses MiniDV, low price.
  • Cons: Low color, moderate film grain in low-light, not so good video quality, camera shake.

  • Summary: It a good entry level camcorder. I wish I had spent xx more dollars and got something with more quality.
  • Pros: It takes videos like its supposed to. Has a few nice features for a low end entry level model. Great picture in daylight.
  • Cons: The sound on the video isnt that great. The battery only lasted for about 50 charges. The average time was around 14 minutes after full charge. If you lose the video cables they are very expensive to replace and Sony is the only one I found who sells them. $xx + tax and shipping is way to much fo...
