The unit has 2000x digital zoom utiliseing the Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar® lens with 60 x optical zoom. It has a 2.7 inch wide touch panel LCD display with 123 K pixel. Its focal distance is 1.8-108 mm with F1.8-6.0 aperture, with 1/4-1/4000 shutter speed. The unit measurse 55 x 89 x 130 mm and weighs 390 g.

Features

The Sony DCR-DVD650 features Hybrid recording technology for transferring video footage and digital photos from the camcorder to compatible viewing devices. Users record the choice of DVD media or removable Memory Stick PRO Duo™ media (all media sold separately). User can also select from various dubbing functions to copy video from Memory Stick® media or built in flash memory media to DVD without using a PC. It features 60X Optical / 2000X Digital Zoom and Digital Zoom Interpolation for high digital zooming (up to 2000X). The camcorder features the Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar® lens with SteadyShot™ image stabilization to reduce blur caused by camera shake. Other features are 1/8 inch Advanced HAD™ CCD Imager, DVD-R/-RW/+RW and +R DL (Dual Layer) compatibility, Power On by opening LCD display, Dolby® Digital 5.1ch recording with Built-in Zoom Mic and Sony® PMB (Picture Motion Browser) software to transfer, sort, and view video and still images on compatible PC, and burn to DVD (sold separately), as well as take one click upload to a number of popular video and photo sharing sites. The camcorder also features Easy Handycam® Button, that "locks out" most features to make recording easier, Film Roll Index which is a features that previews the beginning of scenes and create scene indexes set at specified display intervals (3, 6, or 12 seconds and 1 or 5 minutes); Face Index function, Face Detection technology, Playback Zoom, and USB 2.0 interface connectivity.
