Summary: I didn't buy it for my self. My uncle is an older man that wanted a certain camcorder. He came to my house I pulled up e bay and put him in the right section. He picked out the one he wanted and told me to get that one. I called him a couple of days after he picked it up from me and he is very happy with it.
Summary: I purchased this camcorder to digitize my old 8mm tapes from a Sharp viewcam that can't hold a charge. Although there are definitely signs of wear and tear, it's in very good condition, works great, and the batteries hold a good charge. Overall, I'm very happy.
Even by todays standards, the Handy cam shoots pretty good video.

Summary: The Sony Handycam is still a good value for the age of the camera. Just make sure you find one that has been well cared for. It is a very user friendly camera and will also produce high quality video.
Sony's TRV65 is not outdated and is a great value!

Summary: I bought this camcorder in order to playback my old Hi8 tapes, as well as to make new recordings with Hi8. My experience with tape camcorders has been with MiniDV where the tapes only last for 1 hour, and I wanted a compact camcorder that could record for at least twice as long and include a time/date stamp in the actual picture rather than having to transfer the footage from a memory card then look it up on the computer. This camcorder fit that description.
Summary: Very good deal. The Sony camera works well as advertised. It came with a nice bag and the manual for it. It really is a nice camera. It didn't come with an AC adapter but we found one here for about 10 bucks. All in all, we are happy with with it.
Summary: Purchased this unit used. Camcorder would not turn off. It was dead on arrival. The battery contact points were green and white with oxidation. New batteries and terminal cleaning made no improvement, still a dead camcorder.
Summary: The TRV65 is a great camcorder with many features. I looked at new camcorders with the same features but did not want to pay 1500-2700 dollars. Ebay is the best way to buy a camcorder because alot of them sat in a case and were only used a few times a year like on the holidays
