Summary: Out of the box the Camcorder would not load the Hi8 video tapes immediately ejecting them. I, therefore, never got to use it. As you put the tape into the camcorder and pushed the button to load the video it would then immediatly eject it without the ability to play the film. This happened with all tapes I tried and I tried about ten.
Summary: I ordered this camera after mine was stolen. I needed this to transfer the recordings I had onto some other source. I'm so happy I found it for this price. It worked out just fine even though the LCD screen doesn't display.
Summary: I bought this Handycam 10 years ago. I stopped using it for whatever reason. But I recently set out to convert the video I had taken with this to digital. Not only was it easy, but the quality of the picture was amazing...even playing it on my 40 inch screen. The image is so much better than my phone new camcorder.
Summary: To tranfer old 8mm tapes, great working product very pleased oj4e9tuh52uht92uh9pjoifmnrjionguyrg8ogw;ojanbfuwehl9uijjkrnfjhbsyugv23injerqwbugbv8u53nqibfukebjnvcomnfouijh9ou3q84h8pj3epoij2oiuhifduashuygf7urhfqiu
Summary: I was very pleased with the video camera. However, it had a problem which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Like my original camera, it wouldn't move the tape in any direction. More than that, the tape would not go all the way down and came back out. Then I noticed that a rubber roller (turned out to be the capstan roller) was loose at the bottom of the tape area blocking the tape from going all the way down. I shook it out, but the tape wouldn't move ...
Summary: This camcorder is great. You can film with this camera in no light at all (it uses infrared light and the camera detects infrared light if you switch it to nightvision). Sony says the light goes to 12 feet, but actually it goes to about 25-30 feet. Pros: High quality videos Came with a tripod Videos can be made into DVDs Can record in no light at all The battery life is nice Cons: The only thing I can think of is it could be a little lighter.
Summary: I had been holding some older 8mm tapes that I hadnt seen in years and thought that I should try and save them to DVDs but was somewhat concerned that it might be too complicated ...I perchased this SONY - TVR108 CAMCORDER off of ebay and it was so simple to do ....The camera is very user friendly and has great features...I would reccomend that anyone wanting to do this to pick up any of the Sony cameras like this and relive some of the past on new DVDS ...
Very easy to use and you get a clear picture everytime

Summary: I like the TRV108 model because its easy to use. When hooked to TV for playback you get such a clear picture. For the price its an excellent choice. The worst part i dislike is the cassettes they should have made them smaller. Good product from Sony.
