Summary: Built in video storage only records 10 secounds of video! But they advertise it to trick you in to thinking you don't need a memory card, you will. Learn from this as I did. Like you I researched this product, not much feedback on it and used youtube to review users videos to see how nice ot picture...
Pros: Quality of picture vs. price ratio, nice. Easy to interface with computer, do not require software install for video codecs, simply works.
Cons: Camera went defective after one hour of total use in a months’ time, In January. Took over 5 months to get it back from warranty repair. Each time you called they would string you along with a new status often backtracking on status, no clear answer just a fib to get you off the phone. Technician...
Summary: - I purchased this camera because I read several reviews that for the price it was a decent video camera. I need to be much more selective on the reviews and what people are really saying. - For $360 i was expecting at least the same quality of image and video that my 8 Megapixel camera could do.
Pros: It was a decent price for what you should have received.
Cons: - The pictures were very dark without the flash, almost indistinguishable. With a flash, it looked like someone was pointing a spotlight at the person. - The 720p resolution videos came out more smooth and clear than the 1080p videos. This camera has a hard time keeping up with that resolution. -...
Summary: I just got the Sanyo VPC-SH1 yesterday so these are first impressions. But I've spent quite a bit of time with it already. I'm a single guy who will primarily use this camcorder to share short clips online, and occasionally burn a DVD.
Summary: I just got the camera last night. I've only done a few tests on it. I'll play with it more this weekend. It appears this camera supports iFrame. This is an apple format that equates to 960x540 at 30p. The reduced dimension format actually takes up more space than the max 1080i setting.
Summary: I own 4 computers 2 with dual core processors, the dual cpu means little with the HD files this camera produces, You need tons of RAM. The only time I can watch the files is when I put them in my 8GB DDR3 dual 3.0 core system. I hated the camera until I realized You need HORSEPOWER!

Summary: I was looking for a compact HD digital camcorder that also takes good pictures on SD cards so I don't have to carry a camera with me out on trips. After extensive research, I found this Sanyo Xacti VPC-SH1 is the only one in the ~$300.00 price range with large CCD.
Summary: This camera was disappointing. The picture quality was poor, it skipped and sound did not match up with the video at times. I returned it after taping my daughters graduation, the results were unacceptable.
Summary: I bought this because of the dual function that can serve digital camera and camcorder functions. This is convenient. Pic quality together with video is great. This camcorder claims to be capable of taking pic during video recording, it's true but the pic quality would not be as good as when pic...
