Summary: I have had this camera for some six months..For the most part I have kinda liked it..As i'm not a tweeter or face bookie it has not been easy to just load images on my computer with out spending a lot of money for the software to do so..This item is very socially connedted but not me and that is something one should watch out for if considering this camera..All I wanded was a small HD camera to take some movies with. Not place on the internet... Buyer be ware.
Summary: I purchased this camera for my wife last Christmas, and unfortunately the LCD recently cracked. After spending 30 minutes searching their website for repair information (their repair-center-finder tool doesn't work), I finally broke down and called their corporate headquarters. Three more dead-ends later, I found their customer support information, and spent another half hour trying to get in touch with a person.
Summary: Don't Buy from Sanyo... I bought this as a gift for my husband to use on a trip we are taking this year. As time is getting close, He tried to use his new camera and could not even get it to power on! We took the camera to a friend who has expertise with cameras thinking we were doing something wrong and he could not get it to power on either. We called Sanyo customer service...forget that... they were not interested in helping us..
Summary: Received this as a gift. Was shocked to read in the instructions, that "This product contains chemicals, including lead, known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling." Who would want to use it knowing the manufacturer states you have to "wash hands after handling.
(video is awful) VPC-PD2BK is a sample of current CMOS "HD" recorders
Camera Reviewer, Amazon

Summary: I had to buy this camera when I saw it, EVEN AFTER READING THE REVIEWS about the bad video quality and photo quality. The design of the camera was very appealing cosmetically, and unlike other cheap Chinese cameras, this one has a real zoom lens, which is (usually) a sign of better quality. MAKE NO MISTAKE, THIS CAMERA IS CHINESE CRAP LIKE THE REST OF THE CURRENT CROP OF CMOS POCKET VIDEO CAMS.
Summary: The picture quality was horrible. The software was unfriendly. The whole device was unfriendly. It looked like it would be simple to operate but it is NOT. If the picture quality is bad, it's not even worth your time trying it out!
Summary: I purchased the PD2 due to the hype and when I received it, it was nothing but disappointment, it is very cheaply made, the video capability was ok but trying to take a picture was impossible, it would always focus but never take the shot. and when it did take a photo it was when I was trying to figure out the camera, very unhappy with this device. What was worse was I bought a $50.00 memory card for PD2 that I can't return.
Summary: I ordered this camcorder with high hopes that it would be an upgrade to my Flip cameras...It seemed to have many great features, plus a 10 mp still camera mode! As other reviewers have noted, the first impression upon opening the box is that the camera is cheaply made and very fragile. However the most frustrating part is that this camera simply does not work as advertised. The battery only lasts for a half-hour, then a computerized voice says "low battery"!!
