For those who are experiencing the line artifact their video..

Summary: There is a firmware update that fixes the line artifact some will experience in their recording, generally called a "hot pixel", as well as improve recording. Instead of downloading firmware from US. site, go to the Dutch site instead, and download theirs. Upon installing update, the line is now permanently removed and cameras performance improved. Hope this helped. Happy filming.
Summary: It is small, which is a plus for traveling with it. But it also makes it hard to get a non blurry picture. It has a lot features, that aren't too hard to understand. But nothing really crazy. It can take great HD pictures and HD videos. But you need to keep the camera steady. I bought this, I don't know, how many years ago, and it is still going strong. It even videotaped two weddings this past summer.
Summary: This is an awesome HD camera, especially in good lighting situations. The low light functions are less than desirable, as there is a good deal of noise on the footage. However, the crowning achievement I made with this camera was in filming a full moon from my driveway. The detail is amazing, especially considering how far away the moon is, as you can see the bluish features of the sphere very clearly. At full zoom the camera is too sensitive to use hand held.
Had one for years, bought a GoPro, wish I'd just bought another of these

Summary: I've had this camera for years and have loved it. I wanted a secondary camcorder so bought a GoPro - hate it. Love this little thing. I have a wide angle lens attachment for it and it's great. I haven't upgraded in years and I'm an early adopter type. But I do need a second camera and the GoPro has got to go, I hate it. I recommend this one - it's got a lot of little extra features for the price, and the slow motion is pretty decent as well.
Excellent camcorder with a comfortable grip and great features
6 October 2012
Summary: Having looked at numerous camcorders I decided on this primarily due to its convenient grip and features. Although it's no longer being manufactured as Sanyo was acquired by Panasonic it is every bit as good as any new camcorder on the market and should remain state-of-the-art for years to come. One notable feature on this camcorder which is not present on similar "pistol grip" devices is the ability to add filters, lenses, and a lens hood.
Fantastic Camcorder for people like me (enthusiast) or PROs Too!!!

Summary: When I was looking for buy a camcorder I covered everything from consumer reports to camcorder web sites and one camcorder beat out the rest in QUALITY which is what I was interested in. Price then was high for me, but worth it. I was to be able to record and play back in TRUE 1080p 60P (60 frames per second) in Progressive recording format, thats what the P means for 60P.
Summary: This is my dream dv camera. but so sorry it discontinued.thank god i got one in Ebay, and this cam is in perfect condition, it produce guility movie, and the still pictures look very good by 4"x6".Awesome product
Summary: The Sanyo VPC-HD2000 is not a perfect camera, however for the price it is difficult to compete with. The HD recording modes offer great quality of video recording. Plus the camera has many manual features that are very hard to find with a camera in this price range. The previous reviewer mentions the 4GB file limit as a hindrance because every 22min you would lose 10 seconds of video.
Summary: I shoot videos of bands to help promote our local music scene. Shooting in clubs and dark bars is a challenge for me and the cameras that I have used over the years. Generally I'm shooting under sketchy (if any) stage or venue lighting. Generally I'll "sweep" my shots from the stage and out to the audience where there is almost no lighting at all. Many times I'm standing directly in front of a large speaker with thundering bass where I have to wear earplugs.
