Great, great value for what it does.

Summary: I read many reviews before I purchased the Xacti HD1010. After getting familiar with all the features of the camera, I was really pleased with it. I took it on vacation and shot some amazing video and my still pictures that look like they were taken with a camera costing three times as much. I purchased the Fish eye lens, wide angle lens and telephoto lens and taking amazing pics and videos.

Summary: Very good lowlight, I tried focusing in the dark though at it's full 10x distance and sadly it couldn't focus in dark though lit areas, and there was plenty to see so it wasn't asking for the impossible. I wish camcorders had manual focus rings. Also, the menu system is not intuitive, it's confusing and the ability to fastword in a video is clunky and stupid.
Summary: I bought this almost a year ago. Since then I have used it for recording an array of shots including home videos and live band performances. When I bought it the price was almost half of what it is now. However, this camera doesn't fail to deliver. I switched from a Sony Handycam with mini DVs to this little thing. The difference is night and day! For being able to record in 1080, this camera spits out great quality shots. The microphone in this thing is excellent also.
Summary: I really loved this camera. Great video, great picture and lots of features but last month after owning it for more than 6 months the flash stopped working. Now I am not able to select any of the flash mode, it always stuck at no flash mode. Sanyo warranty covers only parts after 3 months so I will have to pay for the labor. I hope someone helps me out how to fix the issue...
Summary: I've been pleased with this camera (Xacti HD1010) In bright light, picture quality is terrific -- much better than any of the several Canon DV cameras I've owned. In dim light it's not as good, but still at least the equal of the older DV cameras. Controls are nicely laid out, so that the camera can be operated with one hand with a minimum of shakiness. There's a surprisingly long lag (.5 sec?) between starting a video and seeing the display, but you get used to it.
Summary: While I was editing some 20 year old VHS tapes to DVD I was thinking how great it was to have someone that a video cam to capture these old family moments and look back at them, hence my search for a video camera. Thinking a "standard" video cam just didn't make sense in this digital world,I purchased this camera thinking format forward and seeing I have a high def tv and all I decided to give it a try. Boy was I supprised...
Summary: I have been researching for weeks for a HD portable camera. I went to local B&M stores such as Best Buy and Frys Electronics to get a feel for the different cameras. I decided on the Xacti HD1010. First, I was really skeptical about the HD claim of the device. I do some video editing so I decided to try it out. I used only the 1080p(30) mode. The video quality is quite stunning when looking at a 50 inch HD Sony display.
