Summary: Let me preface this by saying that I have had a Betacam on my shoulder for over 20 years, shooting news and commercial production. Those big pro camcorders are fully manual, so I'm used to working that way. I had this little Sanyo camera for about a week before returning it.
Summary: I have the , which is about $100 more than this camcorder, and I also have an old VHS-C that was about $100 less several years ago, and I would prefer choose this one in last place between those. The JVC camcorder is miles ahead of this one, so make a good investment in that instead of this Sanyo.
Summary: Had it Not been for the image stabilization of this camcorder, I would have given it a five star. After shooting and watching the results, I realized the video was too wobbly for me to watch for any length of time. Ok if you mount the camcorder on a tri-pod, or only shoot video in the wide mode.
Decent footage, good colours, but shaky, and flawed in use!

Summary: I was recently in the unfortunate position of losing my main camcorder on holiday (an SD, Panny S26), but happily had the Xacti with me as I was planning to road test it with some short clips for work purposes. I ended up shooting the vast majority of my holiday footage on it instead.
