Summary: All the reasons I bough this a couple years ago are still valid. Native 1080P HD MP4 vid format, JPEG pics, TAKE PICS WHILE YOU"RE FILMING!!! swappable SDHC mem so you can't run out, available lenses & adapters that screw on - ie wide angle.
Summary: This camcorder does a great job and is so small and compact that it's easy to bring along just about anywhere. I initially wanted this model because it can take video at high speeds for short bursts; however, the picture quality is so high that I found taking video at normal speed and replaying in slow motion worked just fine.
You won't be disappointed with this camera - much better than Obama.

Summary: One of the best camcorders on the market. With a 16 or 32GB SDHC card you can record literally hours of crystal clear (full 1080HD resolution) video. Also takes exellent 8 Megapixel still shots. I would advise to use only good quality SD cards however (e.g., Scandisk Ultra - class 6 or higher), as there are many cheap ones available that could be a problem.
IF YOUR THINKING ON GETTING IT.........GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Truly, the most impressive camcorder i've ever seen.It has EVERYTHING. Not only is the video outstanding, but the picture quality is also as good. VERY RARE to have this good quality in such an affordible camcorder. I bought mine #MINT# for about 240$, and I am loving it. One of the reasons why I bought this camcorder is that it is very universal for mac, and also has alot of settings to adjust your video to your liking. REASONS TO BUY: 1.
Worst mistake ever! Do not purchase Sanyo electronics!

Summary: I bought this craptastic video camera last year. At the time, it had all the features that I wanted and was priced within my budget. I really thought that Sanyo could make a quality camera for a good price. This camera does do lots of things, but it does non of them well. I really should have returned it, but I felt that I was just expecting too much. Now I know that I just purchased the wrong camera and I regret not returning it.
Summary: When I read the reviews for this camera, it was often compared to the Canons (HF10 and HF20) which were two to three times more expensive. This camera has a large (37mm) lens and a 1/2.5 CMOS sensor (slightly smaller than a half-inch) which provides decent low light sensitivity. No external microphone connections. Don't expect to make professional videos with this camera all by itself.
Summary: This was bought as a gift for my wife who loves taking pictures everywhere we go. I did two days of testing to see how it responded in high to low lighting situations, how fast it is ready to record and ease of use in general. Very pleased, then I allowed it to sit for three weeks, hidden of course, to see how the battery holds up, still showed full charge.
Summary: I bought this camcorder here at $279. Even at the current price of over $400 I think it's a great deal. I am a family home-movie camcorder user, and have been using a Panasonic 3CCD DVD camcorder for years. The FH1A was bought to replace it, as I like to edit my movies on my Mac, and getting MPG files into iMovie requires jumping through hoops. I selected the Sanyo FH1A after reading all the reviews here and elsewhere. First impressions: nice packaging, so-so manual.
Summary: I bought this Sanyo camera because I wanted an HD camera for my next vacation, to go with the Flip Ultra HD camera I bought recently. I figured I wouldn't be able to mix the Flip HD video footage with the footage of my Canon standard definition camera in my editing program, since they would be of different formats.
