Summary: I am delighted with this product! I really like the quality and low price. I am grateful to the seller. I recommend this camera to my friends. I gave the highest rating the seller and product.
Summary: I went through 3 waterproof cameras before discovering this one. I really love it, altho I haven't really delved into the edit functions. For basic videoing around and in water, it is great. Makes up for not being HD by having much better zoom than any of the other simple waterproof camcorders. The image stabilization is good, it pairs seamlessly with my Mac, looks cool and does everything I could wish.
Summary: Very happy with this and it's seller. It's portability makes up for it not being a $1000.Nikon. Best I have found for all around use in unexpected photo or movie opportunities. If and when this breaks, I will probably buy another Sanyo.
Summary: I bought a Sanyo Xacti. This ended up being the the worst camera purchase. The screen that folds out is a faulty design. It will fail, just depends on when. Our Xacti happened to fail the second day into our trip to Europe. For the $350 dollars we spent on this camera you would expect a better product, we bought it because it was the "Editors Pick" in Wired.
Summary: Bought this less than a year ago. after only a handful of uses (all on land not underwater) I realized it was hard to use ability to hit buttons for still pictures while keeping hand still wasn't easy - resulted in blurry pics. Worse part is after about 5 times using it it stopped working wouldn't power up. thought it was a battery issue. Bought new battery same problem. It gets worse.
Summary: After two year's use, I opened it up to shoot and the Display was upside down with no solution to correct the issue. I'm not the only one who has had this problem according to web searches. Funny thing is Sanyo has not heard heard on this problem. The their site is not user friendly to ask how to resolve this issue. As for when the camera worked - the underwater images were fantastic. Just not worth the money to break after two years.
Summary: Sanyo has since improved this model....hopefully the quality for lasting because when we first got this we paid about $300 because it had just been released and we wanted the new model. Always better to wait a while because 1) price usually comes down and 2) you can read reviews to see if it is indeed worth purchasing. However this is a great product. We went on a cruise and took it and during one of our stops we took a tour in which it was raining.
Summary: At first I wasn't sure about buying a refurbished camera, and I was right. The first camera I received did not work at all. But I contacted Overstock.com, and they fixed it right away. We received a replacement camera within a few days, and it works perfectly. The video quality isn't the best, its a little slow, but it takes great stills under water as well as on land.
Summary: Functionally the camera is a good product. It's easy to use and download content and also compact and comfortable. The bonus is being waterproof. My first model for 4x the cost of the second died within a year, which is why I replaced it with this one, since I had already purchased the expensive memory cards and batteries.
