Summary: We have had this camera for a while without any major issues. I wish the battery lasted longer (get extras) and it had a regular mini USB connector. I don't understand why Sanyo felt the need to make it without a standard USB hook up. I would still buy it again. The videos and pictures have been very good. Low light videos are a bit so so .
Summary: I have own a Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG9 9MP Flash Memory Camcorder with 5x Optical Zoom bought from Amazon in 2008. I love it except it has a short battery life. You only get about an hour of charge if you do any video and/or zooming. Very disappointing. I am getting ready to buy a few spare batteries.
Summary: Update 11-12-09 3 stars The indoors natural light pictures and video this takes is unacceptably poor so I returned it. If this is used outdoors only, or with flash indoors, it takes fairly good pictures and nice video. For this price you might look elsewhere like the Canon SX110 series. Original Review 4 stars First of all I own Canon cameras (Canon SD1000 and Canon SX110) that take better photo's and videos than this does but the things this combo does is quite good.
Summary: The camera is exactly what I was expecting for - beautiful, little camcorder, small enough to carry around most of the time (which was the reason I bought it) with video quality ok for most of the situations. This camera is indeed does not have the greatest IQ around, but wait, we don't expect the image quality of semi-pro 3CCD camera from a toy that fits in you pocket.
Summary: I bought this camcorder as a backup to my Panasonic Mini DV. This is my first experience with flash card memory so I was not prepared for the differences between it and mini DV tape. I think this is a great camera. The clarity of the videos I have taken so far are impressive. but I have been unable to find any software for my computer that I can use to edit my videos.
Summary: Very happy with the picture and movie quality, using it mostly for family. The size and shape of this camera are very nice. I bought a small padded camera case and keep it in my purse all the time. It also takes nice still pictures so it's the only camera I carry now.
Summary: I recently purchased the Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG9 after doing a lot of careful review and comparison with several other SD camcorders. After a week's use of the Sanyo Xacti I am very pleased with my purchase. The video quality is excellent and in fact it is just as shown in the sample video on the product description page. The camera is exactly the same, great quality.
Summary: I love this camera, the price is great for what you get and it's the perfect camera to carry around for those spontaneous "Kodak moments" in life. The reviewer who compared this to an HD camera I think was expecting a little too much bang for their buck. You get what you pay for. I also like this camera because at this price if something happens to it I wouldn't be too devastated which is just what I'm looking for in something that is in my purse on a day to day basis.
Summary: There were some people who really didn't like this camera and some that did. So I was worried about buying it. After getting it, I think they were both right, but maybe not why you would think so. When I first got it, I initially went in and started playing around with the settings, and got all the problems other reviewers were talking about, the biggest being the choppy video. I wanted the HD video.
Summary: Bought this camera for general family activities, school shows, etc. about 3 months ago and it works great. Its a nice little camera to stow away in your pocket and pull out when needed. Video quality is okay for indoors in a well lit room, however it is somewhat grainy in a less than adequately lit space. Video quality is excellent for outdoors. The image quality of pictures is not that great, however, this is a video camera so that is to be expected, even at 9 MP.
