Surprisingly poor video, very narrow field of vision

Summary: I just wanted to get a camera that I could use for YouTube videos and to take decent pictures. I'm not asking for much, and I'm not a videophile. But this camera failed to meet even my low expectations. The photos look faded and grainy, even in bright light, and have that odd digital look. The video, too, is grainy and faded. And perhaps most frustrating is the very narrow field of vision.
Summary: The size and convenience were nice, but the photos were not good. I mean, the quality is worse than the pathetic camera we're trying to replace which we got as a wedding gift...11 years ago! It's a Fuji FinePix, 2MP, 3x zoom, and we have better photos with it than with the disappointing xacti. My biggest complaints: 1) the flash- it says that red-eye reduction is built in, but it does not do the double-flash-thing.
Summary: Bought this product from a friend who got it on amazon. It stopped working after 3 months. I probably had a total of 12 hrs of use. I brought it to the Customer Care Clinic (Sanyo's Repair Center) and they've had it for the last 3 months. They told me they are still waiting for a part from Sanyo. Sanyo Customer service NEVER returned any of my calls as they promised. =( Don't waste your money.
Summary: Got it Used it Watched my film Sent it back. The picture quality is really terrible. When you play it back it looks as though it is skipping frames and the light capturing ability is another major disaster. In other words, if you want a good quality hd camcorder, look else where.
Summary: I had problems getting the video exported to a dvd and called Sanyo USA customer service for help. The level of support was horible. I ended up having to figure out the problem on my own, only to realize that it takes over 30 (continous)hours to encode one hour of HD video to DVD format!!! Highly disappointed is an understatement.
Summary: I bought a waterproof version of this pistol grip Sanyo camera - the screen failed after 16 months - seems to be a common problem. Sanyo were uninterested in helping, as you might expect. I recommend you avoid this and get something more reliable if you are interested in a device that will work for more than a year or so.
Summary: It works but thats about all I can say about it. If you are using it to video very slow moving objects in very bright light then you should be OK. I suggest you save up an extra £300 and buy something that you'll be pleased with.
