A camera full of nothing but problems
20 November 2010
Summary: I got this Sanyo Xacti after wanting a portable camera to take to conventions. On paper it seemed to be perfect - and I have no problem with sound quality, image quality or its other features. They're all perfect for the camera. My issue is usability. This camera heats up extraordinarily fast.
Surprisingly poor video, very narrow field of vision

Summary: I just wanted to get a camera that I could use for YouTube videos and to take decent pictures. I'm not asking for much, and I'm not a videophile. But this camera failed to meet even my low expectations. The photos look faded and grainy, even in bright light, and have that odd digital look.
Summary: The size and convenience were nice, but the photos were not good. I mean, the quality is worse than the pathetic camera we're trying to replace which we got as a wedding gift...11 years ago! It's a Fuji FinePix, 2MP, 3x zoom, and we have better photos with it than with the disappointing xacti.
Summary: I did enjoy the camera/camcorder while it lasted. After normal use, no dropping or anything, it just decided to not power on any more. The quality is not worth the money. Stay away from this product, it doesn't last long.
Summary: Bought this product from a friend who got it on amazon. It stopped working after 3 months. I probably had a total of 12 hrs of use. I brought it to the Customer Care Clinic (Sanyo's Repair Center) and they've had it for the last 3 months. They told me they are still waiting for a part from Sanyo.
Summary: Got it Used it Watched my film Sent it back. The picture quality is really terrible. When you play it back it looks as though it is skipping frames and the light capturing ability is another major disaster. In other words, if you want a good quality hd camcorder, look else where.
Summary: I had problems getting the video exported to a dvd and called Sanyo USA customer service for help. The level of support was horible. I ended up having to figure out the problem on my own, only to realize that it takes over 30 (continous)hours to encode one hour of HD video to DVD format!!!
Summary: Echo other reviewers. Pictures indoors are grainy, even at low ISO. Flash is underpowered, focus hunts unless manually set. Video is disappointing. Still images appear soft. Colors on both inaccurate, lots of barrel distortion in stills. EIS ineffective. Back to Amazon it went.
