Summary: The screen on this unit does not work well at all. In many cases when pressing you get either inaction or it scrolls to the next page. After exactly 8 months and being used around 5 times for a total of around 10 hours, the screen froze and is now broken. Samsung have refused to refund or replace the camcorder. Stay well clear!
Summary: I really like the size and weight of the camcorder and it fit into my inside jacket pocket very easily so I could carry it around effortless without the need of a case. But, because it is small and fits in your palm, when you use it, it tends to be more sensitive to your handmovements. As a result what you record can come accross more shakey, so you need to have a steady hand.
Summary: Samsung produce some excellent AV equipment and sometimes some good phones, however in the HMX-QF20 they have decided to take the worst aspects of their worst phones and repackage them in a camcorder body. There are some neat gimmicks such as: - Inbuilt wifi for uploading to social networking sites without the need for a computer [like a cell phone] A home button to access the touch screen menu [like a cell phone] The ability to shoot left or right handed [like a cell...
Summary: The first thing i want to say is that it doesn't come as a complete package, there is no SD card and no HD lead, there is also no pouch or case to keep your lovely new purchase in. Its not a cheap make and I would have thought a SD card and case are a must. Before I could use it, I had to Purchase a new SD card, as all my other cards are in cameras, and once you remove these you forget to replace them.
Summary: This Samsung camcorder is a bit of a mixed bag. It is small for a camcorder which makes it easy to carry, but also makes it harder to get shake free video. The build quality is not great for a product retailing at this price. The flip out screen is small, the touch functionality is poor. The screen uses resistive technology rather than capacitive. This is a problem when using the pause function to allow you to stop recording without going on to a new file.
Summary: While I must admit that my experience with camcorders is limited to the ancient one my parents use to own, I found the Samsung QF20 SMART to be light and very easy to use. The quality of the HD picture is good (although it does get a bit grainy in extreme zoom and in low light). The camcorder can be used by both right and lefthanders, although the LCD display can be a little sluggish orientating itself if flipped quickly.
Summary: Very disappointed with this offering from Samsung, expected a lot better. Once you've got past the gimmicks, there really isn't a lot to this. Low light level performance was bad, very grainy. Photo's were even worse. Playing sound back on the TV was distorted, although on the PC it was better. Wireless connection to the PC was ok and playback worked as well as expected. However, the AutoBackup software just wouldn't work.
