Summary: as long as you are shooting indoors, its fine. the microphone is a joke, so be sure to buy a separate microphone, (i reccomend using a zoom h2n as a recording platform and the rode videomic pro as a mic.) and having a very low dynamic range it does not do well outside, but with a little color correction it actually still looks ok. definatly the best camera for the price!
Summary: Great price for a compact HD camcorder. Just get a really big and high level SD card and you'll be happy. Great for someone who doesn't need all the bells and whistles. Had it since 2009 and it still runs like a champ.
Summary: For the price its a very nice camera. Shoots decent 720p video. 1080i is interlaced, less suited for shooting motion. It would be a greatest camera (for the price) if it had exposure lock button...
Summary: Seeing as this camcorder is a 2010 model there hardly seems a point to adding a review more than halfway through 2011. However, some stock apparently remains out there and someone might still consider buying one. They will want to know if it's any good. Short answer: it is. It's actually very good. You want details? Pros: - Great optical image stabilization. Not quite as good as Panasonic camcorders from the same model year, but nearly. - Very good HD image quality.
Summary: I purchased this camera with the plan of recording live slide presentations and chalk presentations on a black board. I was positively rewarded with my decision. The captured image is clear and sharp enough for one to be able to read the writing on the board quite clearly, even when used at the lowest resolution possible.
Summary: This is a great camcorder and very affordable. I like the optical zoom, but need to use a tripod or brace to use the zoom after a point. Images are very nice. I like the feature that let me take pictures of frames in the videos if I play the video. As a camera, the camcorder tends to be pretty slow.
Summary: I've recently got this camcorder and it's got great image quality. Once you get the optional HDMI cable and plug into an HDTV, it's amazing how much details you can see. Unless you need a lot of extra features, this is an amazing camera that is very easy to use. The battery life is also very good.
Summary: First, here's a tip for anyone who owns this camcorder or is considering buying it. There's a problem when shooting in low light, for instance, a living room at night. The camera automatically lowers the frame rate quite a bit, resulting in choppy video. This can be easily avoided by switching the Scene mode to anything other than auto. I leave my Scene set to portrait most of the time. The camera remembers the setting, so I don't have to mess with it.
