Summary: I love this camera! I was weary about buying it because of how low the price was but after I purchased it and started using it I was amazed at how awesome it was for the price! I started showing people in my family how awesome this camera was and my sister bought one about a week after I showed her.
Summary: Lucky for me, I did not have to buy this. I have it signed out through my college as a rental. I just thought I would help people who were looking to actually purchase. I hope it does.
Pros: -Great to use while recording -Decent Picture in 1080 Super Fine -Pretty self explanatory to use
Cons: This camcorder is a pain to use when it comes to the video importing. The only way to import video is to use the proprietary software, which just so happens to only work with Windows. If you try to import it without using this software, it takes the normal widescreen video and distorts it to look...
Summary: For the price you aren't going to find a better product. Easy to use and feature rich. It is perfect for anyone that wants a solid hassle free experience. You can even expand the space by adding an SDHC card to this which allows you to squeeze more life out of it as your recording needs grow.
Pros: To many to list really. If I had to pick a few I would say the fact that this is SSD and holds up to 12 hours of footage. The quality. It is also very easy to use. Transferring video and images is as easy as plugging the USB cable in and hitting copy/cut and paste. This also records in MP4 format...
Cons: None really. I am perfectly happy with this one. It has everything I was looking for.
Summary: I purchased it to replace a 3 yr old Sony mini DV camcorder, and it exceeded my expectations in every aspect. It is sturdy and compact (no moving parts other than auto lense cover); very easy to operate with great battery life; the HD video (can recored up to 12 hrs)it captured just blew me away...
Summary: This is a nice tidy camcorder that takes great outside video. Fits perfectly in my hand. My limited experience with indoor recording was hit or miss when it concerned video quality. This camera only shoots in widescreen mode and also is not seamlessly compatible with Macintosh computers.
Summary: I bought the hmx-h106 camera because every source out there touts it as a 1080p camera. It's not. I should have known when it didn't even come with the HDMI cable, and only component cables. If you read the fine specs on Samsung's website, it does clearly state that this is ONLY 1080i.
Summary: After dealing with 8MM tapes for 10 years (Sony Digital Handycam), I started investigating non-tape camcorders. Lots of inexpensive models to use from but I discoved the HMX-H106 at CES 2009. This is the first camcoder with Solid State Drive (SSD) technology.
Summary: Well, I'm going to keep this short and sweet. The video quality is really good, the focus is good, the lens is good. The editing software is built into the camera, and works well, if limited, and you'll need a decent PC to process the HD in real time.
SAMSUNG H-106, Great New Product... But be WARNED!

Summary: I have owned this Samsung HMX-H106 Camera for about 2 months and have enloyed using it. I like the ease of use and quality of the resulting picture... BUT there is a problem! I tried to use the included A/V cord to connect the camera directly to my HD TV and was surprised that the picture was in a...
Summary: It's so Samsung. H series is the camcorder having the fundamental of camcorders the most among Samsung camcorders. Adopting the high capacity/performance SSD, they suggest a new criteria. Better thing is that they've focused on the fundamental of camcorders.
