Excerpt: My husband just bought this camcorder for me for Christmas, and I love it. It takes great videos, is easy to use and has so many options. This camcorder is also a camera, and take amazing pictures! iT HAS A 78x ZOOM.
Summary: Since I purchased this product as a gift for my daughter, I really don't have an opinion on the item. As far as I know, she and her husband like it. There were a couple of reasons that I purchased this item. After looking at a few reviews on camcorders, I wanted one that would have a fairly decent zoom and the price seemed pretty good.
Summary: Likes: Easy to use even for a total beginner. Uses a common SDHX card. Charges battery quickly. Easy focus function. Very compact and light weight. Easy to see view screen. Easy upload to You Tube. Dislikes: You need the Panasonic Suite 3 program to view all videos. Videos do not play on a regular windows player.
Summary: The 8 plus ounce weight and small profile makes it really easy to use and carry. Like any zoom camera a tripod is a must over 20x and up. An optical view finder wold be a big plus.If you want a high cap.battery, they are expensive.Chinese batteries are available quite inexpensively but cannot be charged on the unit with the provided charger. You must also buy a special charger. Overall a good starter camcorder.
Summary: My partner bought this for me as a birthday present before our son was born as we wanted to record all the special moments as he grew and this camera has done just that so far. The camera looks slick and stylish being silver and black and looks very modern. It has a leather hand strap to keep the camera in place while recording which is very useful.
Panasonic SDR-S50EB-A: A Fantastic Standard Definition Camcorder

Summary: I confess that I had my doubts about this camcorder - for the same price, I could get a handheld "Flip" style camcorder with HD and even 3D. But I chose this camcorder because of the look of it - I've always prefered camcorders with flip out screens and hand straps. First of all, the ability to use an SD card was a great relief - no need to mess about with proprietary hardware or any of that nonsense.
Pros: Good quality video, high zoom, low file size
Cons: Gets shaky when zoomed in a lot, not waterproof, not HD
