The Panasonic SDR-S150 is similar to last year’s model, the SDR-S100. In fact, the SDR-S150 has not changed much at all. The Panasonic SDR-S150 is similar to last year’s model, the SDR-S100. In fact, the SDR-S150 has not changed much at all. While some may see this as a bad thing, others are relishing in the fact that Panasonic kept things similar. The only problem with the SDR-S150 staying put in design and features is that the competition has moved forward. This has not completely left the SDR-S150 in the dust, but it has set it back quite a bit.

Early on there was hope that the new SDR-S150 would become HD capable, but unfortunately Panasonic decided to go in a different direction. For this reason, the SDR-S150 has been passed up by models from both Sony and JVC. While there is time to catch up next year, it appears that the SDR-S150 is going to have to stay put in the background.

The greatest strength of the Panasonic SDR-S150 is its image quality. Images are sharper than expected, and color is dead on. This is one area that this model does not have any trouble competing with the competition. The three 1/6” CCDs make these images possible, while keeping noise to a minimum.

Another benefit of the SDR-S150 is its size. This model is about as small as the come, and with this you should not have any problems carrying it in your pocket or purse.

As far as dislikes are concerned the SDR-S150 has a high price tag of approximately $800 to $900 depending on the retailer. When compared to other models that are better equipped it is hard to justify this purchase.

The SDR-S150 is best left for Panasonic enthusiasts. While it does offer some benefits and high quality video, the price tag and lack of technology leave the Panasonic SDR-S150 well behind the competition from Sony and JVC.
