Summary: I have a water soaked paperweight. I was looking for another WP cam .. and floated (ahem) back/forth between the Black and Red one. Decided on Black. WRONG... the exact same camera in Red is Waterproof ..the Black "Weatherproof". Which means - what appears to be the same - is Not. An expensive lesson I hope you do not repeat. I already have the Sanyo Xacti and a Flip Ultra w/WP housing that work great, so I'll just eat crow and move on...
Summary: This Panasonic camera does not shoot in MPEG2 despite what you have read. This camera shoots files that have the extention .mod You will NEVER find a program that can read, or edit these files. Your only option is to use the Panasonic software to view these files. Nice...until you lose the software or sell the camera. You can't just download the software from the Panasonic site to view the files. You'll have to buy another camcorder just to get the software again.
Summary: This camcorder went back to Amazon because it has very poor performance. I bought it for indoor use and even with all the lights on the videos were still dark and fuzzy. I expected better resolution since this uses MPEG2 which is supposedly less compressed than MPEG4 file types. I have now bought 2 cheap digital camcorders, this one and a Samsung SC-MX10 (which records in MPEG4). They both performed about the same - very poorly.

Summary: Length:: 2:53 Mins This is a review of a few different options I've tried for recording video. Part way through I talk about how poor the Panasonic SDR-S10 video quality is and about how the file format Panasonic used is not compatible with Windows Movie Maker or Sony Vegas Studio 6.
Summary: Firstly I admit 1 star is a little bit unfair but an overall score of 4 stars is very misleading. SO hoepfully this will take it down a star or two. This camera does have few redeeming features. It's size and easy use is certainly worth 4 stars. However and it's a big however the picture quality is no better than the old VHS. Panasonic should be ashamed of themselves. So should those Amazon reviewers who I trusted that said picture quality was great.
