Summary: I've owned this camera since 2010 ,I very happy with it anyone that says it doesn't take good video pictures doesn't know what they're talking about or maybe from another co..it is light and easy to use,a monkey could run it ,it's that simple I gave it 5stars however if you want to take still shots I would suggest you by a digital camera for a better picture,it's really for videos
Summary: I like this camera that I recommended one for my colleague, despite that I have a Professional camcorder and I know about its work, yet I still like the video quality of the Panasonic SDR- H85.
Does not record video to its own hard disk. Support unknowledgeable.

Summary: The 80gb hard drive is useless to me since this camcorder does not record video to its own hard disk. It keeps on bringing up the black screen with "NO CARD". Also the "NO DATA" screen is repeated often and is brought up in an unpredictable manner. The data is there, but it keeps on bringing this glitch of "NO DATA" and "NO CARD". After inserting a compatible SDHC card, the bad news is, it won't record even to an SD card!
Summary: Now this Camcorder is one of the best i have ever purchased, and I have had many all the way back to the VHS big boy type. I really do love this one the most because of it's small size, ease of use, and it get's the job done. I personally would recommend this Panasonic SDR-H85K model to my family and friends. Thanks for great working camcorder.
Summary: I am still using it and it works great, beautiful picture. The Panasonic software isn't worth a darn. It never worked 5 stars for the camera ZERO for Panasonic and their BS software that doesn't do anything right.
Summary: I wasn't expecting a Hollywood production quality picture when I bought this camera and I sure didn't get it. It's pretty cheap, small, light, has a big HDD for long video capture and has great zooming capabilities. On the flip side, I can't get a low light video to turn out better than a 7-11 security tape for the life of me. When recording school concerts I've had hit and miss results 100% depending on how much lighting was present.
