Excerpt: I really love the Panasonic brand. I swear by my Panasonic point and shoot and have convinced many people to buy the same one that I have. So, when we were shopping for a video camera, I thought I would stick with a brand I know and trust. The price was great, especially with such enormous zoom and memory. We initially bought it for our wedding and honeymoon knowing that we would soon be having kids and want to use it all of the time.
Summary: I like the camera but have a major problem with the software that comes with it. The camera records in an MOD format that is not compatable with my video editing software and windows media player. Videosuite 2.0 is very limited in what it will do and I was informed by Panasonic that I can have videosuite 3.0 if I want to pay for it. Yeh right! I would've never bought this camera if I knew what a hassle it would be to work with my video files.
Summary: We wanted a reasonably priced camcorder to record some events our kids are participating in. This camcorder made some sense for us. Love not having to juggle tapes or dvds to record on. Picture quality is fair, but that is what I read in other reviews. Uploading videos to YouTube is a snap. Gave us the ability to show family and friends the video without mailing tapes or dvds all over the place.
Summary: I like Panasonic products and wanted to stick with them. I had a Panasonic camcorder which I dropped and broke. I loved that camcorder. When I got this one I found it did not have a light and you cannot snap a still picture while videoing, both of which were features on my old one so I was disappointed. But the rest of the features are good. I can't tell about battery life yet because I haven't used it enough to know.
Good Video quality, poor picture quality...no flash.

Summary: I really like the zoom on the video and the fact that all of you information can be saved to the hard disk or to memory card. However, the still image zoom feature just makes for blurry pictures...low megapixels. Quality built camera, lightweight, records decent videos, overall a good buy...if you have a separate camera for still images.
Summary: I am still having problems coming to terms with operating this camcorder. The best thing about it is its light weight and portability. While I did not expect HD quality pictures, I certainly believed that the picture quality could be better. Unless there is professional lighting, it is a total waste of time trying to use this camcorder in the night.
Summary: Size, ease of use, features and zoom are real good for the price. But both video and still picture quality is very, very poor. My wife bought this for me as a Christmas present but I cant wait to return it..What good is a camera if the picture quality is 3rd rated..
Summary: I wanted a simple video camera for documenting and editing family events. the panasonic sdr h80 hdd camcorder doesn't come with editing software and is not plug and play compatible with my Mac. a dvd burner is an optional accessory.
Summary: Not good in low light conditions , transfer of video to dvd must be done with their program if not the quality is poor in transfer. Not user friendly. The unit does not have firewire capabilities which is simple to use with other software editing....
Summary: Panasonic SDR-H80 SD & HDD Camcorder (Black) this product is great outdoor during day light. It does not perform very will indoor unless you have enough light. I was disappointed a little bit with the video image quality. it is not agood choice if you trying to buy both still image and video camera in one. I bought this cammera because the reviews was so good on it. I also bought it because of its size, 60 G HD and some feature they describe.
