Pros: Optical image stabilization, 40x optical zoom, clear stereo microphone, bright LCD view panel (even in sunlight), quick cold boot to record time, well placed controls.
Cons: Included battery doesn't last long, power dial is a bit too easy to turn when unwanted, those with big hands (me) might accidentally press unwanted buttons, retractable tunnel viewfinder is small, manual focus slow in low light.
Summary: I bought this a week or so ago. I am quite happy with this gadget. Again it has one touch navigational button for play, rewind, fast forward and stop. It is indeed a plus having a 42x, with optical zoom and most especially that it has this advance O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization)and easy to reach O.I.S. button for when ever I need to use it when I am moving around. The menu button is accessible too.
Summary: These are the characters I looked for before buying this camcorder. The model was suggested by B&H salesman and it turned to be an excellent product. Huge zoom, excellent stabilization, nice grip and reliable. It has capability for taking stills too. I also got a firewire cable to transfer the recorded stuff to my PC. This way I can reuse same mini DV, though it does not cost much. If you are looking for something below $200 I would highly recommend this product.
Pros: Comfortable to Operate, Great Features, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Simple Controls, Versatile
Summary: Bought this camera as a work deck for my macbook pro final cut setup. I had to get a 800to400 firewire cable but no big deal, i think it cost me $12. The camera was recognized right away and the control has no issues. The only bummer is that it doesn't have the option to record with its vcr function (I needed a way to grab an old show open off of a dvd and couldn't use it to grab the clip). All-in-all a great little camera.
Pros: Comfortable to Operate, Durable, Great Picture Quality, Simple Controls, Versatile
